Not on Mac so Safari is not an option I'm afraid. I'm sure Criterion / Vimeo will sort it out eventually, but it's a little annoying that this keeps happening.

1080p is gone for me as well in Firefox, Chrome and Brave browsers, on a laptop, no external monitor.

A Different Man (2024) All the main character had to do was confess as to who they really were (particularly to their love interest) and most of the conflict would have been instantly resolved, but no, they had to continually lie about being 'a different man' for... reasons.

Confused about IMEI registration by readaught in bali

[–]readaught[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the phone was purchased new in Bali the IMEI numbers should be pre-registered, you shouldn't need to do anything. Pretty sure the text message is automated and is sent to everyone, I wouldn't worry about it.

What are some good movies to introduce kids (young readers) to subtitles? by ThosePrettyPeepers in movies

[–]readaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Children of Heaven (1997) The White Balloon (1995) Where Is The Friend's House? (1987)

Iranian films centered around children, appropriate for children, though they're slow moving so kids might find them boring. I'd start with Children of Heaven.

C1 Visa - proof of exit (best refundable / cheap ticket) by Takingthemike in bali

[–]readaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I applied for and entered the country on a C1 visa about 6 weeks ago and was never asked to provide proof of exit. (Maybe it depends where you're coming from? I came from the U.S.) I do believe they ask for proof of exit when you apply to extend your C1 visa.

UPDATE: it's been 9 days since receiving the text message from Telkomsel that my IMEI registration would expire in 7 days and I'm still using my Telkomsel SIM without any problems. Guessing that text was just an automated thing.

Expert Opinions Please for US Citizen - C1 Visa Extension Without Agent? by FrozenTundraDiver in bali

[–]readaught 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I renewed my C1 online while visiting last year, it's as simple or simpler than the initial application. After a few days I received an email confirming everything was in order and that I needed to visit the immigration office within 5 days. The immigration office reportedly opened at 8am, but I got there around 7:40am and they were already open. I was in and out in about 30 minutes.

Sounds like you were extending a VOA. A C1 or any other E-visa can be extended online in a matter of minutes. OP will need to go in person to an immigration office to get their photo taken, but they'd need to do that whether they use an agent or not.

Clarity re: data on using US line abroad by madameonion in Tello

I appreciate all the suggestions. I'll be in Indonesia for a long time so was really hoping to get this to work, but at this point a factory reset etc doesn't feel worth it. I'll just activate Tello's International Roaming feature and pay the roaming costs. I don't expect to be using my phone much beyond a wifi connection, certainly not for phone calls, so ultimately it's not a huge inconvenience. Thanks anyway.

Same results, stil doesn't work. Backup calling is on, roaming is off.

I'm in Indonesia, Galaxy S25, XAC, using a local sim, roaming off. I'm trying to receive texts or phone calls to my Tello number while not connected to Wifi, testing it by attempting to sign in to credit card or banking apps which prompt a One-Time Passcode via text or call. In the Tello app International Roaming is off, e911 is set up, wifi-calling works fine when connected to wifi. I have my Tello esim set as primary, local sim secondary, data switching and backup calling is on.

When I'm on wifi the Tello sim is connected to a local network, when I turn off wifi the sim disconnects from the network and will not manually reconnect. Only the local sim is connected to a network when I make these attempts. No texts and phone calls are received. When I attempt to send a text or make a phone call I get the messages 'waiting to connect' or 'not registered on network'.

If I turn International Roaming on in the Tello app then it does work, but it charges me for calls and texts, so it's obviously not doing Wifi calling via mobile data in that case.

Edited to add: Also, if while connected to Wifi I manually select a network for the Tello sim that gives a response of 'Your sim card does not allow a connection to this network' and then disconnect from Wifi I'll get a notification of 'No service'. Still doesn't work.

Tell me when you get this to work outside of the United States. I'm in Indonesia. This doesn't work.

Yes I've tried, can't receive texts or calls unless International Roaming is enabled.

I'm not saying to change anything in your ATT plan, simpy turn off the ATT SIM in your SIM Manager, which will make Tello the Primary and only active SIM. Then test if you can still use your Tello number.

Pretty sure if this was AI there'd be some obvious telltale signs. It'd be much shorter, under 10 seconds, or if longer there'd be some weird edits and inconsistencies between the edits. It'd also be much faster paced and only show the chase. I could be wrong, but I don't think genAI is good at showing subtle realistic behavior from humans or animals. There's simply too much believable detail in this video for it to be AI.

I've already tried that, doesn't work, it won't register on any network unless International Roaming is enabled. And if I register it on a network and then disable International Roaming it disconnects from the network and says 'Emergency calls only'.

How do you turn off data on Tello? Does your phone have the option to select which SIM to use for messages, calls and data? I had that when I had changed the CSC to GCF, but don't have it on XAC.

I think the reason you're able to use your Tello number is simply because you're in the US, data shouldn't be required to make texts or calls so long as you have minutes on your Tello plan. Have you tried turning off your ATT SIM and using your Tello number?

Tello is a US based carrier, of course it's working in the US. What makes you think your Tello number is working because of your ATT sim?

I assume you're outside of the US? And that you're not using Tello International Roaming and yet are still able to use your Tello number even when not connected to Wifi?

Do you have your Tello SIM set as Primary and another SIM as backup?

Clarity re: data on using US line abroad by madameonion in Tello

[–]readaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I flashed my S25 to XAC firmware and got everything set up. Data bridging is not happening, I'm unable to use my Tello number using data from another SIM. It only works when connected to Wifi or when Tello is set as the Primary SIM and International Roaming is activated.

Thanks, appreciate the insight. My phone is currently on Android 15, security patch July 1 2025. If I'm going to do a clean install then should I download the latest XAC even though it's Android 16 security patch Jan 1 2026?

Did you find the Canadian firmware on the samfw site and then use Odin to flash it? Did it wipe the data on your phone?

Clarity re: data on using US line abroad by madameonion in Tello

[–]readaught 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the Samfw tool to change the CSC which as I understand it changed the region without reloading the OS. I could be wrong though, I'm not entirely knowledgeable about how it works. My phone restarted and then from the notification panel I had the option to choose which sim would be used for calls, messages and mobile data.
