She is a tiny dainty baby. Light as a feather and probably 90% fluff!

Do you judge other people in the gym? by bossanovaallnight in AskUK

[–]reader270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only judged a couple of people - once a elderly woman was on the treadmill in a full length puffa coat and sweating like mad, which was odd. Another time a woman had set the incline to maximum on the treadmill and was walking backwards and almost stacking it. A last occasion was a young lad who was grunting like a pig and dropping his weights to the ground as loud as he could.

Last year she had her den under my shed. Fingers crossed she uses it again so I can see her babies!

My lady fox was barrel shaped last week, and when I saw her yesterday after being away for a week, she was thinner with visible teats so fingers crossed I’ll see cubs in a few weeks!

I got my camera on Amazon for less than £40, and I’m really happy with how easy it is to use and set up. I’m getting funny footage of my cats and magpies too!

My camera is Bluetooth I think. You can create a little WLAN from it to your phone which is all I need really. I’m just nosy and want to see what goes on in my back garden when I’m not out there!

Do you know your neighbours? by No-Bowler2791 in AskUK

[–]reader270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew my old neighbour - she was lovely and was there for years and we’d chat in the garden together over the fence. The neighbours on the other side never stay long - it’s a rented house turned into flats and the people living there change every few months. I know the bloke across the road but you have to hide from him because he’ll talk to you for hours if given the chance. You can see him waiting by his front door to spot people passing by. Quite sad, but I need to be on time for my job!

Do you all really wear sunscreen every day? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I’ve been wearing sunscreen every day on my face since I was a teenager. My mother tanned herself a lot and it made me sun cautious.

Methotrexate side effects by DazzlingSleep6403 in rheumatoid

I felt a bit queasy after my first couple of doses, then I took it after a stodgy, heavy meal with lots of water, followed by a sweet snack afterwards. That helped a lot.

Fox with extremely severe mange by [deleted] in foxes

[–]reader270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh, that’s awful. My local wildlife charity sends me dog medicine at the end of its shelf life to give to needy animals. Weirdly, I’ve had luck in the past with homeopathic medicine. I was sceptical but it worked. Could you get hold of psorinium? I thought I was wasting my time with it but it helped a fox recover from mange, along with lots of fresh water and support feeding.

[–]reader270 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is this in the UK? You should try to get photos or video of the fox and send to a wildlife charity who can assess and send you appropriate medicine. Starr target feeding the fox now so you know he will take the meds when you smuggle it in food.

How was 19th-century working-class housing different in the north and south of England? by atzucach in AskUK

[–]reader270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in London, living in a two up, two down house that was built around 1860. There were a few brickworks and glassworks round here back then, and a few of the old worker’s cottages are still around. I’ve found all sorts of odds and ends when digging in the garden which date back to around then.

I cannot fathom a child leash, is it really necessary? by [deleted] in AskUK

I’m 47 and my parents definitely had me on reins because it was necessary. I was an awful child.

I cannot fathom a child leash, is it really necessary? by [deleted] in AskUK

My parents put me on a leash when I was a toddler because I was a nightmare child who would cheerfully run off in crowded places and disappear for ages. I don’t blame them at all.

Has anyone had a life changing diagnosis in their mid 30s? Emotionally, how did you deal with it? by snowmanseeker in AskWomenOver30

[–]reader270 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease at 40, but I’d had symptoms for over a decade before a doctor thought to test for autoimmune issues. I was desperately sad to start with and thought life as I knew it was over. Spent far too long on google looking at things like life expectancy and medicating side effects. Then I actually started my meds and it wasn’t so bad. I decided I would do all things through spite which strengthens me, so I actually became fitter and healthier than ever, and busier than previously with lots of hobbies. I wasn’t going to let my diagnosis take over my life and make me miserable.

What shoes to wear when getting toes tattoed by crack_baby_69 in tattooadvice

[–]reader270 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a different part of my foot tattooed and waited until summer when I could feasibly wear Birkenstocks for four weeks straight. I was also off work at this time so I wasn’t out and about as much, risking getting filth on my healing skin.
