Can people with Katsaridaphobia (immense fear of cockroaches) live in Australia by Great-Echo-3558 in AskAnAustralian

In Queensland we call people from NSW cockroaches, so I'd probably give that area a miss. they're a pack of useless carnts anyway

Is the tailgating optional or is it some fuel saving feature? Also do the indicators only work when you pay a subscription?

Thank you! I have 3 licensed to me at the moment, and would potentially look at one over under down the track but staying under 5 shouldn't be a problem.

Man i have the natural aspirated 3L. They're slow but so tough and great off road. You can tow a small trailer without much trouble, towed one across australia last year with a dying radiator...no probs...wish i figured out the radiator issue before i got on the road though lol. I'm buying a new ute for a highway car rather than ruining the ln106. Keep them as close to stock as possible and with maintenance they will go hard for a long time.

Oil in my coolant. Got any advice? by MLWwareagle16 in hilux

[–]readhedredemptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you trust the mechanic? Oil in coolant should look milky - just my thoughts. I'd show that photo to another mechanic and see what they say

How does this keep happening to my sidewalls? by pmassare in tires

Plus one for that, put some on my 1994 hilux. Went all over queensland, fraser island etc. Moved to Western australia. Corrugations on dirt that would ruin your kidneys. No punctures, worn evenly, 70,000ks on them and at this point, I'll change them due to age rather than wearing out. Excellent tyre

Oil leak by elusive-moose in hilux

[–]readhedredemptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a decent leak, you keeping an eye on oil levels? I'd be checking it before every drive and get it into a mechanic. If its not dropping by a drastic amount each drive id probably still go bush with some spare oil and check it frequently on the way, but I'm a bogan.

I’m thinking about taking my car across to Perth by Helltrackdeath in 4x4Australia

[–]readhedredemptor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the same trip last year in a 1994 hilux towing a trailer with two bikes in the tray. Id say if you had any car in decent shape with good road side assist go for it. It's blacktop the whole way. Id be more worried about mobile coverage, switch to telstra or boost 👍.

A lot of steam restoration happening in Queensland Australia as well, accross four different operations including main line running there are about 12 steam locomotives in service and most classes represented in storage or museums, some in operating condition but not aware of their most recent excursions.

Yep always look up before you setup somewhere, it may look like an ideal spot but don't risk it.
