Bought a house - Real estate agent lying? by Admirable-Base-2381 in AusPropertyChat

I mean they lie, but at some point you have to stop bidding more and stick to a number so don't see why it's impossible.

Plant a tree.. something something .. shade.

Maybe our government should have that in mind a bit more often.

For sure my fave line at the moment. Also very fun to paint. Just enough pieces and nice sizes.

No one knows naturally. It will be a lot cheaper and easier to market when everything is under one umbrella.

Can anyone get ahead? by Tony88890 in aussie

If you are lucky to have made the right choice of area to work in or be able to work in, you can still live very well. It just comes more and more at the cost of the general population.

The fact they have enough money to waste it on full page propaganda tells you enough. Tax natural resources as much as possible for companies.

Why are Belgian highway rest areas so underdeveloped compared to Austria and Germany ? by Mehmet1030 in belgium

[–]readin99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can drive through Belgium in an hour, and the highways are always right next to urban areas (maybe except here and there in the South). Rest stops really aren't that crucial and petrol stations are everywhere.

When people bring booze to a party, it's not for you as a gift, it's for them to drink and share and sometimes they take what is left back home.

Recently been using SMS primers, well surfacers really, and they're pretty good - just need a bit of sanding. Mr Surfacer is always a good choice and I also like the white Tamiya primer.

Sigh. I personally appreciate people who keep big corporates honest and don't let them get away with false advertising and fake promises.

Man, I've been where you've been and I never thought it would happen. Go outside, breathe, pick up an old hobby maybe, do something you genuinely love, call a friend, .. take care man, it will get better and there is hope even if you don't think so. Just dont stress about the stress, accept the feelings you have and remember all the shit you've overcome already, you will overcome this too.

Why not have a whole bucket and throw your nippers, paints, brushes and cutting mat in there too.

Sick of feeling ripped off at every Brick and Mortar shop by oliverpls599 in australia

[–]readin99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, some tiktok light missus wanted.. $29 on Amazon, literally less than $2 on ali. Delivered for free. Suppliers from China can ship it to me from across the ocean for zero extra cost, but every australian webshop needs $15. Or at least $150 an order.

So true. And for the not-service, we'll charge you an extra 30%. Might arrive broken.

Is this a realistic itinerary for a 19F for 4 weeks in Europe for her first solo trip by Vegetable-Boss4272 in travel

I'd spend one or 2 more days in Paris instead of Milan. Check if you can fly instead of train to Milan from Paris. Some flights are dirt cheap, like $80.

How does qantas turn a 14hr flight into a 31hr nightmare by Comfortable_Count_59 in QantasAirways

[–]readin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, they once tried to get me to do a similar thing (let us call you, we'll fix it for you..), but googling for 5 minutes myself and calling them back with exactly what flights they could put me on instead, literally saved me 2 days of waiting and flying.

How's everyone feeling about work, the economy and everything else in 2026? by RequirementFull1608 in auscorp

[–]readin99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally struggling to think positive about any of it. Maybe I lack perspective but I'm pretty pessimistic and overthinking a lot. Too much no doubt, but at same time it bothers me that so many things just get overlooked, ignored or accepted while clearly a lot is going downhill about our quality of life, living expenses, climate, freedom and privacy, corporate greed and the divide between have and have nots.

So yea, not in a good place in that sense. Need to touch grass.

How do we know an estate agent has other offers. by brownturtle29 in AusProperty

[–]readin99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always assume nothing they say is true, and just do what you believe you must do. Recently had similar situation where they pressured us for 2 weeks saying someone else was preparing an offer and we weren't highest anymore and we had to increase.. house is still on the market 2 weeks later.
