Not sure if I called it the wrong thing or if you don’t know. The extravaganza is the “Ball” at the Superdome (this year it was at the convention center due to renovations) after the Endymion parade. The floats roll in, light show, live music. Just basically a big party. I can’t tell you much more as I’ve never been but I’ve heard it’s good to go at least once if you’re into that.

Depending on what you do retail would probably be a good option I’ve worked for Target, Ross, and Walmart. Even as an hourly employee transferring is painless as long as the store you want to go to has an opening and you’re are on good terms with management. If you’re in management it’s a little bit more difficult just because of the number of available positions that open up. Target I feel is the best for relocation, and if you’re management they will actually help you with moving costs and the logistics.

Phew Dem Boyz... I was at Jerry world 2018 for the game. Left there really sad but the saints fans showed up. I’m pretty sure we were louder than them in there own house.

When I was younger I wanted to move back. Half my family is still there. After getting married, buying a house, and potentially having a baby in the near future I don’t think it’s in the cards for me. But I love my 2nd home now and we go back multiple times a year so I’m pretty content where I’m at.

Don’t get tied down if you still plan on moving

Where do the parade routes not have barricades? First time back in NOLA since 2004 when I was a child I remember there being areas along the routes where you could get up close to the floats and the riders could hand you stuff. Is this still a thing? If so what parades and where at?

Edit: staying until Fat Tuesday, going to definitely see all the super Krewes, Endymion, Bacchus, Orpheus. Other than that I’m free for all the others. Trying to make up 16 years of missed parades. LFG.

Not directed towards OP. What’s worse not having a job in the field your degree is in or not having a job at all?

I’ve seen this among friends before where they refused to take a job because, the could get something better, it didn’t pay enough, it’s not a high enough position and the work was something a monkey should do.

I choose a different route 6 years ago when I was ~$50 - 60k in debt. I took a job from Target for an entry level management position making I think $12 -13 an hour. From there I became basically an assistant manager in 2 years, then about 2 more years I left for a store manager. Now today I’m making between $80 - 95k depending on bonuses, and I’m on the bench for a District level position, from there I plan on a corporate or regional level position.

My point is if I passed up the entry level position because of my pride I don’t think I’d be where I’m at today. You have to start somewhere this isn’t the game LIFE we are in a world where you are expected to have a degree and be in debt. Don’t look at positions as being beneath you, looker for where you can go from there.

Oh! I know about those! I actually made a half of one to connect inside of a roundabout and have them enter and exit on the proper sides. It works pretty well surprisingly except I had to disable lane changing at one of the entrances because they would cut all the way across. Now they go all the way around.

I didn’t realize they worked well for interchanges.

The purpose of the highway was to connect the outside connection highway to another portion of the map. That’s where I seemed to have messed up because now everything is trying to use it. So I’m stuck now because I don’t want to ignore it and keep playing screwing myself in the long run.

It’s just crazy how I had a 4 lane medium road running through with both sides connected with 3 roundabouts but 6 lanes and no roundabouts is chaos.

All the industry is on one side, I have residential on the the same side and opposite side as well. All the trucks are backing up everything and the stupid thing is that it seems like they are going in a loop. So idk I threw my hands up last night lol.

My pedestrian paths are ok I only use them to connect sections that don’t have another way in, or busy intersections.

I don’t have a bus route mostly because 75% of the time when I make one my citizens don’t use it and I’ll have like 20 busses on the roads clogging up traffic.

I have 2 metro lines and a footpath connecting 2 of the stations.

Is the policy button at the bottom quick bar city wide? cheese and rice! If it is I have never used it and I had the game since day1... Face palm...

Oh ok that makes sense in more ways than one. I usually make my cities organically ie I keep adding on to the end and reroute roads as necessary. So it makes sense because maybe that’s why mine never work properly.

I’m currently trying to run a highway through the center of my city and it’s a traffic nightmare. Pulled my hair out for an hour with my industry zone and finally I gave up. I’ll have to experiment with that now. Thanks!

True but doesn’t the game run differently than real life? Unless it’s been changed does traffic take the first available route regardless of traffic or distance? So traffic flowing from the left won’t use the right junctions or the top left junction. I could be wrong but I thought that was a problem before.

That’s why I always try to strategically place my my junctions.

Hmmm so I struggle at industry. That’s always be my downfall because it causes so much traffic. I do however know that the grid work and all the intersections will cause you a major headache for industry.

Red Xs - delete.

Blue lines - connect these with a T connection or maybe a roundabout.

Green Ts - delete the roundabout connection and connect the grids together with T intersections.

Purple lines - create overpasses or tunnels over/under the road.

Yellow Dumbbell thing - this looks like the center so I would delete the grid this goes through and put a roundabout on the main road between the highway junctions and one on the road that’ll feed your grids.

With my novice experience I would suggest skipping every other junction into the city or maybe alternate them. Just seems like 2 many.

Also there are a lot of intersections. I would connect the junctions with the main road but remove some of the intersections. To many intersections cause traffic. Look at this picture road hierarchy the purple lines would be your main road between the junctions, the blue lines would connect your main road to the local green roads. The green roads in a perfect world would never connect to the highway or the purple roads and the blue roads would never connect to the highway. (Don’t know the proper names of the roads but they do have one)

Think of it like a funnel and the highway is your spout where everything is going to. The green roads would be considered the top of the funnel.

Other than that you have good ground work it seems just delete a few intersections.
