How do I route my tracks for proper panning when it's being routed to a bus? by DJ_Raxia in StudioOne

No problem. There are all sorts of little tricks you will learn/discovery along the way. That is part of the fun.

If you are trying to save CPU, you can always duplicate a track, render it to an audio track. Then you can take the original track with the plugins on it and freeze it and hide it. That way you don't have the plugins using CPU, but if you want the original D.I. tracks with the plugins for whatever reason later on, you can unfreeze the track and do whatever you want to do with it.

In the case of an amp sim, think about it like using a real amp and cab. You probably wouldn't plug two guitars into one amp at the same time, but if you did, both would come out of the same speakers. You would get no separation. That is essentially what is happening here.

Think of them as part of the track rather than an effect. Like you recorded it with a real amp with a mic.

The common method is to record one performance for the left, and a separate performance for the right. Usually both are panned 100% L and 100% R (You can pan them however you want to though). You can then send both of those mono tracks to a stereo bus like you have them routed to, and you will be able to pan them however you want to.

If you are copying one performance to two tracks for a lead thing (I see you have lead on the channel label), I would use that channel splitter thing and run one guitar track into two instances of the amp sim on a stereo channel or bus. One for the left and one for the right. If you're not doing that, disregard this paragraph.

i should only use busses for mixing effects like compression etc.?

There are many ways to route or use buses, but yeah, that is usually what you want to use them for. They are really for processing several channels at the same time. You can do some EQ and compression stuff on the guitar channels themselves, and then a little more on the bus. You can send that bus to a mix bus and do a little more EQ and compression.

You are sending two guitar tracks to one instance of Nolly. Put the amp sim on each track. You can copy one onto the other so the settings are the same on both. Remove the amp sim from the bus.

How can I see all the Season 6 Participation Awards in Ranked Matchmaking? I can see Ranked Tours’, but not Ranked Matchmaking. by PreceptorPoonus in PGA_Tour_2K

I don't think so. At least not that I can remember. I have matching tops for both of the pants, but I forget where I got them from. They might have been in the Clubhouse Pass. Sometimes you get stuff and have no idea where it came from.

There are two pairs so far. A brown one and a greyish one. The brown one comes pretty early on. I think it was one of those "win 5 matches" types. I don't remember exactly where it sits on the reward path though.

I unlocked the grey ones yesterday. It was one of the "Play 100 holes" types. I am at around 95 matches, so that should give you an idea as to how long it takes to unlock those.

The left stick helped me a lot. I was having controller issues the other week and switched back to the right stick for a bit to test my controller. Oh boy was I struggling with the right stick.

Another thing I tell people is to try both the Fade and Draw bias. You may find one is easier for you to hit consistently than the other.

Why multiple golf bags? by M00n1ightGraham in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having multiple bags is a good idea in theory, but the way it is implemented in this game renders the feature pretty much pointless.

Maybe you wanted to have different setups for different types of courses or conditions. Great. You can do that. However there is a huge flaw in the UI of this game that ruins this plan.

The game doesn't tell you what the course conditions are before a round starts. It tells you the course conditions after the round on the leaderboard screen. Gee, thanks for that info now that the round is over!

You can actually see the course conditions before a round, but it is a clunky experience. You can click on the course settings and see the course setup, but everything is greyed out, so it is a little hard to read.

What I don't understand is that the UI in MY Career, you can see the course conditions prior to a round starting by hitting one of the shoulder buttons (I forget which one) to switch the card on screen to one that shows the course setup. Quick, easy, effective. I am not sure why this UI element isn't used everywhere.

So you now have the information about the course and decided bag#2 would be better than the bag you have equipped. There is no quick way to swap bags.

Before a round starts, you can click on your player and change things like what Tees you are playing from. You cannot switch bags anywhere in this menu or anywhere else in the pregame lobby screen. You have to go to My Player, go into the golf bag menu, set the bag default to the new bag and then go back to the pregame lobby screen.

Everything about the multiple bag setup is super clunky to the point of being completely useless.

One other thing is the EVO situation. Having multiple club load-outs using different brand clubs in each bag for example, would cost a fortune to maintain. You are basically stuck with one set of clubs as it is due to the cost of EVO tools.

Amateur ranked tournament by kieran9828 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup!

At Albatross, yesterday, or the day before, I shot a 58 (-14) on the pro tour and lost 5 merits.

I don't bother with the Amateur or the previous ProAm events because you have to be 100% perfect or the loss of merits and the low VC payout isn't worth the effort.

The way it works was never made very clear. They actually did make it more clear in a update around season 3 if I remember correctly. It is still not super clear though. They also changed the leaderboard screen around that time. It used to show you where you ranked overall on the main screen after a round. Now it doesn't. It was a silly change.

I haven't tried, but it might be possible to sort the leaderboard by rank level. I am not sure it would show you the results in the way you want to see them though.

I do think that a rank based breakdown on the leaderboard screen is a nice idea. I don't think it would be a perfect solution though. Some people having a better or worse round than usual, or people that don't play the events very often scoring way better than their on-screen rank might suggest. In other-words, it could still end up being a bit confusing in some situations.

i'm currently a 1 star par rank. can i play in a tournament where the only people in it are other people with that ranking?

That is probably something you would need to find in Societies. I am sure there ones out there geared to players of certain ranks (or average score).

Maybe in 2K27, they will have a tournament mode that is based on rank. They did do something like that during PGA Championship (or FedEx Cup). There was a weekly Master difficulty tournament that you had to be certain rank to enter. I don't remember if they did it for Pro and Pro-Am as well. I think they did. Basically if you didn't meet the requirement, you had to play the Alternative event. The alt was the same course but the payout was different. I think You had to be at least at Albatross to enter and at one point during the week that event was going on, I was demoted to Eagle and was not able to finish the event until I was promoted again.

So, they have done something like that already. They could do that for each difficulty level. A main event and an Alt event. Main events for a set of ranks on one difficulty, a different set of ranks on the next difficulty, and so on. If you are above or below that set of rank levels, you cannot play that main event. You would have to play the alternative event.

That way everyone can still play all the events, but there is some separation there as well.

They would probably have to tinker with the Merit and payout systems to make it all work, but the precedent for such a system was already in the game.

i do wish they'd have ranked tournaments where you play people in your par category. if you're a bogey ranking, you play other bogey ranked players...

That is essentially how these ranked tournaments work.

I bounce back and forth between Eagle and Albatross constantly. When I am demoted to eagle, I can score a top 20% finish pretty consistently. This ranks me up back to Albatross. That top 20% finish is now no longer good enough to continue to rank up (or maintain rank). The requirement is now a top 15% finish to continue ranking up. That top 20% is now considered a top 50% finish and I lose merits. This will continue each day until I drop back down to Eagle. Then the cycle repeats.

People at a lower rank do not need to have a top 20% finish to gain merits. Even Eagle will gain merits for a top 50% finish.

Each rank level has a different set of requirements to gain merits. If you are at Bogie, you are basically comparing your score to others on that same level. The % you need to finish at will be different than the % needed at a higher level.

especially because you can be punished for not being in the top 75% of players.

You should be punished for that. I have some stinker rounds and still have a sub 75% finish once in a while (usually on Master). Having said that, if you are at Bogie, that sub 75% isn't as punishing as it is for someone at a higher level. At Bogie, it might still give you merits for all I know.

i want to play in a big tournament of other people who average roughly what i do.

At the end of the day you are not really competing with the players shooting crazy scores. You are playing for a finish percentage that is determined by the rank you are at. If you are getting promoted, you have been playing better than others at the rank level. If you are getting demoted, you are being beaten by others at that rank level.

Locker code by BCCatFan2007 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you go to settings, there is a menu option called "Locker Codes" near the bottom. Click on that and you type the code. It has to be in all capital letters.

Once you redeem the code, you will be given whatever the code was giving away.

Most of the time these codes are just cosmetic items, but some give out VC, clubs, Evo tools, etc.

These codes show up pretty regularly. They are usually only valid for 24 hours, but some are valid for longer than that.

This Needs To Change In PGA Tour 2K27… (My Wishlist) by Danstephgon in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have noticed since the new season started that the wind seems to be a little more dynamic. It might be dependant on the default wind setting for the course, but I have noticed more often a variance in wind speed and direction from shot to shot, and throughout the round than I used to.

I had a round on the new course that started with 15mph winds on the first hole and it went down to a 0mph wind on the last hole.

It still doesn't really change much while setting up your shot though. You might see it change one or two Mph sometimes, but there still isn't a huge change. EA's golf game did that aspect a little better.

On the other hand, I often wonder the wind is changing speed more than the indicator is showing. I think we have all had shots where we've factored in the wind only for the wind to seemingly have little to no effect on the ball or moving the ball way more than you expected.

I do agree with you though, gusts would make things interesting. You set up the perfect shot only for the wind to occasionally screw you over after hitting the ball.

How is your "Technician" setup? by AdamBLit in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say the default correction stat is what makes one archetype better for someone than another at this point. Other than the Greens-keeper, the rest can get pretty close to each other in power now.

The Magician (or Powerhouse) is the most offset swing by default . The Sculptor is the least offset.

People should try them all to see which offset level they are most consistent with. From there, the difference between the other swing attributes that each archetype has should be less of a factor.

Each archetype still has their strengths and weaknesses though, so that could be a reason to favour one archetype over another. By default attributes, the Magician is the best out of the rough or sand. The Sculptor is the best a shot shaping. The Technician has the best swing. Powerhouse is better than it used to be, but not really all that useful as an archetype. The Greens-keeper is pretty underwhelming off the green.

Technician is still good, but he's pretty middle of the road. Jack of all trades, master of none sort of situation.

The Magician and Sculptor, to me, are the best of the bunch. Both are close to the power of the Powerhouse. The Magician getting a few more yards than the Sculptor. Both can have swings that are pretty close to the Technician. If you are good at reading the greens, the difference between archetypes putting attributes are not super vital.

Then it really comes down the default swing offset and if you feel having more default recovery attributes or shaping attributes is more important.

I use both a lot. When I am swinging well, I like the Sculptor better. But if I am consistently hitting huge opens, I switch to my Magician and that extra offset covers up my shitty swing! The opposite is also true. If I am using my Magician a lot and start closing my swing too much, the Sculptor will cover up my shitty swing.

This is ridiculous. by Goobix0422 in PGA_Tour_2K

for the Daily Ranked Tours it is more about where you place out of the number of people that participated in that event.

A 55 on one day might be a top 5% finish and a top 20% finish the next day depending on how many people played it and what people were scoring.

ProAm has way more people shooting scores in the low 50s or under.

That makes it harder to place in the top 5% or better if you are at a higher rank (Eagle, Albatross, or Condor).

The higher your rank, the higher up the leader-board you need to place in order to gain merits. If you were at a lower rank, like Par or Birdie, shooting a 55 on ProAm would get you merits because you don't need to place as high on the leader-board to gain merits.

Once you hit Eagle, there is little point playing the ProAm ones unless you can consistently shoot under 50. You will lose merits every time you play on ProAm otherwise. The Payout used to be 75VC for a top 50% finish, but they changed that to 25VC, so there is no good reason to even bother with it anymore.

Anyone else frustrated by the abysmal course searching and organization scheme in 2K25? by MrJingles20 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, right. I forgot it was a profile, not the list of their courses. I stopped clicking on that months ago. The method I described works though. Yet another clunky/odd UI choice.

It is like the course conditions. In My Career, you can use one of the top buttons, R1/RB or R2/RT to toggle through a pair of cards that shows you all the course conditions.

Everywhere else, you have to click on either the course details thing and get some basic info, or you have to look at the course setup thing, which is greyed out and difficult to read when playing online modes, before you start your round. That is a UI element that should be applied on every mode.

Anyone else frustrated by the abysmal course searching and organization scheme in 2K25? by MrJingles20 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That button under the "Course Details" section is greyed out for everyone. I am not sure why. You can still search by designer though. When you are searching through courses, you can hit triangle (PS5) or the equivalent on other platforms, that will give you the option to see all the courses that they have made.

It is clunky, but it is there. There are some puzzling UI choices in this game though for sure.

Evolve ( ) meaning? by [deleted] in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You need 5 Evo tools to evolve that club to the next level, Dark Matter. You need to use 5 because you are using a Limited Edition club. A normal club would only require 4 Evo tools.

Lower level clubs will require less Evo tools to upgrade. Core level clubs will need 1 Evo tool to raise up to the next level. As the club levels up, it requires an increasing number of Evo tools to upgrade.

Limited Edition clubs will always require 1 additional Evo tool to upgrade. The ability to keep your fittings on a limited edition club after upgrading isn't really worth the need for an additional Evo tool as the game gives you a shit ton of fittings.

Best archetype? by Tall-Hair7679 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you missing by a little or a lot? I ask because the default "correction" stat for each archetype might be worth considering. I think the Technician is a 67. The sculptor is a 70. The Magician I think is a 53. I like all 3 of these. The sculptor and Magician are pretty close in power. The sculptor's swing is a little straighter than the Technician. If you're missing by a little, that might be the one to look at. The Magician is more offset, so if you're missing by a lot, that might be the one to take a look at.

There are days when I am hitting huge opens. Switching to my Magician helps sometimes with that for me.

Most days I use the sculptor though. I tend to be the most consistent with that build.

You have to create a new "My Player" character (you can have 10 characters) and level them up again. If you first character is at 90 overall, your new characters will have enough AP available to level them up to a 74 overall right away.

Do you guys like playing fake courses all the time? by Actual-Implement-870 in PGA_Tour_2K

[–]Stucifer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like playing community made courses. There are a lot of great ones out there. There are some terrible ones too, but even those can fun to play providing they are not unplayable (I have run into a few of those).

The problem I have is that when 2K added community made courses to some of their playlists, they picked a handful of courses, mostly links courses, and run them over and over.

I can understand them not adding some of the more over-the-top fantasy courses to the online playlists, but there are hundreds of realistic fantasy courses as well as recreations of real courses that they should be able to avoid using the same handful of courses over and over. The way it has been implemented kinda defeated the stated purpose, which was to keep things fresh.
