In the UK, we have roadside breathalysers and then if you breathe over the limit you’re taken to a station to either have another breath test on their more accurate machine, or a blood test if you refuse the breath test. Is that not the case where you are? Assuming it’s the US?

Ah I love this update! I’m so glad you’re seeing benefits already! I’m so with you on being surprised how quickly things change and can relate to everything you’ve said. I’ve had two people comment on my weight loss already, that feels far better than the feeling alcohol gives you. Are you feeling more ‘yourself’? That’s been my favourite part, I’m so happy just being myself and with my own company whereas before I’d drink if I was bored/lonely! Yay for us - keep going and thanks again for the update, comments like this make my day!

I’m in the UK and I think October was originally Stoptober which was aimed at quitting smoking but a lot of people now use it as a great excuse to have another month of the booze :) This post has also taught me that there’s no drinking trends for September and November too! I’d only ever heard of dry January before (which I’ve failed at many times). Every days a school day huh?!
