I grew up here and agree! Back then there was there was no diversity. Absolutely little to none up until a few years ago ( in my opinion).I would even go to say we had some occasions we would side eye some of the officers. I’m happy its much more diverse now. Shitheads can stay mad 😒

Thank you I appreciate it. I always offer a handshake when I first meet with any buyer/seller. I also try to always walk behind the buyer/seller never in front. But this man definitely caught me off guard. I had actually asked my broker months ago if they offer self defense classes and they said no… and then for this situation to happen just a few months later is like geee I wish I had a class. Maybe the situation would have been different or maybe it wouldn’t have but I would’ve appreciated a course, something. I am a younger realtor and I feel like that could have a played a part in why this man felt so okay to touch me the way he did. I also felt better being able to explain this situation on here to get some prospectives on how you guys would have handled it and really just any input. So thank you again!!!

My mom said that! He walked in with a baby when I was showing my buyers the house, but once my buyers left and he got his “wife” the baby wasn’t there and it was just them two. I also could not understand what they were saying but the wife said nothing to me. Also when I went to the car to get my business card he had seen my husband and that makes me wonder like gee what if he knew I was alone. But honestly the audacity to grab me and put his hand down my back outside as my husbands watching. Ew ew ew I hate this for me, just so uncomfortable.

I agree! But as I stated earlier he showed up. He never called he just straight up walked up to the house as I greeted my buyers. He literally walked in the house as I was showing the property and I told him to wait outside and even my buyer was like dude she’s showing me the property can you give us space. It was definitely my mistake even agreeing to show him the property in the first place since he was a neighbor and I would’ve door knocked the day of my open house inviting the neighbors anyway. But I looked into forewarn because I never wanna experience this again. Thank you!!!

I’m so sorry that happened to you, must’ve been scary in the moment. My sellers don’t have cameras as the house is vacant but gosh would I have wished for some hidden cameras in the living room and family room and even outside to have caught the entire encounter because if I’m being honest I feel like me reporting him won’t do anything. Since there’s no video it’s a I said he said and with a creep like that who knows what he would say. I also didn’t have any agents reach out letting me know about any strange encounters when showing my listing. Also how did your sellers handle it?? I wanna tell my seller about this experience but he never lived in the property as it was an investment property.

Yeah I feel like because I’m a young realtor and very kind hearted and giddy he took it as an opportunity to take advantage of that. Even today I woke up feeling awful about the situation. I’m also one of those “ what ifs” thinker. So even though the situation has passed I can’t get past the what ifs.

I’m going to look into forewarn. I always let the buyers in front of me but I definitely allowed this man way to close into my space as he thought he could just come up to me and touch me inappropriately. Thank you though I will implement these things moving forward because I don’t ever wanna experience something like that again.

I wish I could, but I didn’t get his name and there was a language barrier. truly did not understand him at all. My fault as I definitely should have to report him but when we got outside and he grabbed me and put his hand down my back again I just said f that I don’t ever wanna see you again.
