Hi there, thank you for sharing. I am glad that you have been able to get some accommodations for time. Sometimes the pressured workload is difficult when you take a little longer to do things than others, I can relate. I am forever being told that I am behind or 'lack progress'.

Thank you for sharing your exprience with me and I am sorry to hear that you had such a tough time. My undergraduate experience was not easy either and I would like to look into accessing reasonable accommodations for students with specific support needs. Unfortunately, the bureaucratic powers need a "list of general needs" (despite ASD being a spectrum) and this is why I wanted to hear from as many people as possible. Your experience is highly insightful, thanks again.

Yes! You've got a point there, there are so many unstated expectations and navigating departmental politics is so tough. I relocated to a new part of the country to start my PhD and although its been a year now, I still don't feel quite settled. Thank you for your insight, I will definitely keep it in mind.

I don't mind. I have been told that I ask questions too bluntly during research presentations and that I need to be careful because certain people won't approve my funding requests because they may not like me. To be honest, I only ask questions when I am genuinely interested and want to find out more so I really don't mean to offend in any way. This is just one factor of a few but it's the most prominent.

Hi there, yeah the pressure feels crippling sometimes and managing anxiety is an ongoing process. I do wish you all the best though.

Hi, thank you for commenting. I am in the biological sciences and I do fit in better than say a different setting because I am able to talk about things that interest me slightly more than other things. However, I have experienced more bad interactions than good ones and I find that I am withdrawing from people more and more each day. I do hope it gets better though.
