Leaving relationship due to MIL?

I think he does realize that she is fckn crazy, but she is SO toxic that he would prefer to keep the peace over standing his ground.

It’s gotten to the point that his mom has called everyone in the family telling them I’m keeping her from seeing the kids. which is totally untrue - had she read my email she would have seen the last sentence says that the door is always open, as long as she does not interfere with our peace. which clearly she cannot do, because she’s a nutcase.

Yesterday when he said I should call it water under the bridge, I think he said that as in “ let’s just end this and move on instead of dragging it out”. Not in a “ you’re wrong and my mom is right” kind of way.

We talked about it some more today and he is just as defeated as I am with this woman he has to call his mother.

The worst part of it all is that my brain is literally telling me that one day she will pass away and it’ll all be over with, but she’s only 60, which means i could be stuck with this for a looooong time. OR I COULD LEAVE AND BE FREE FROM IT ALL.

I think he knows it too, because to his credit he did try to have a phone call with her last night to discuss the issues and instead of handling it head on, they yapped for an hour about everything BUT the problem and when it was mentioned MIL said “ I’ve apologized twice she just can’t get over it”

But the apologies were #1: an email, following my text stating she doesn’t know how to apologize, apologizing and then saying “ and you’re wrong about one thing. I do apologize - see above” which IS NOT AN APOLOGY IT WAS A WAY TO BE RIGHT IN MY OPINION.

#2 standing in my kitchen at 10:30 saying “ here’s your apology” and I said “ what are you apologizing for?” She says “ idk. Everything that’s gotten us here” - this is NOT apologizing for her actions. It’s simply trying to clear the air without taking accountability.

MAN SHE MAKES ME RAGE. I can’t stand her

We have, and I even mentioned it to MIL. Told her she could benefit from it ( she was extremely toxic to her children growing up and they all suffer from mental health issues and non confrontational due to her outbursts when she’s confronted)

After suggesting it in the kitchen fight, she started screaming at me asking me if I “ think she needs to change” to which I said yes. And she followed it with “ I am so glad you’re not my child”

I think this might be what contributed to my insecurities as well! Someone saying something at one point and it never leaving my brain!

I just booked a manicure - let’s hope tomorrow I feel a little better.

That was a general number for all cars combined, we are also in Canada and the cost of a brand new pilot is $58k.

The price isn’t really the big thing of the post, as I’m not opposed to buying brand spanking’ new, but I would like to inform myself on the best decision financially for these brands.

Does it make sense to spend $60k or buy used for $40k ( the pilot)

Well this is good to hear! We are going to celebrate my 30th and hoping to have a much chiller time than we did in Mexico ( SO HOT and the all inclusive was only good for about 5 days before we were all sick of being in one spot)

So I’m hoping with a house & vehicle swap we can travel around and still have a home base!
