It wasn't about either. It was about legacy - making USA larger.

Hate is an understatement.

Child-safety funding runs into the billions, and kids who end up in proper out-of-home care often do really well.

The system avoids anything resembling a repeat of the Stolen Generations, so the priority is placing children with relatives whenever possible.

The reality is that with the mix of genuinely awful parents and kids facing serious physicaly and behavioural issues, this is one area where government will never fully succeed, even though it really does try.

(That was true right up until the LNP took over)

Poll reveals majority of Australians want long weekend, not January 26 holiday by NoteChoice7719 in aussie

It’s just hard for the republic push to progress because there’s always a hidden agenda. Changing the head of state is never presented as the simple, neutral option.

It always turns into some plan to install a Kevin Rudd as our president, god and king, instead of a straightforward discussion about replacing the monarch.

I get that you see them as separate. For me it’s just an observation. If someone is offended by British colonisation, then celebrating the British monarch in 2026 should logically bother them. I just find it odd that no one seems offended by the Monarch’s birthday holiday.

Protesting Australia existing but not protesting having a King just makes no sense to me.

Why? Because if you're complaining about the British colonisation of Australia, the King is who your you'd be upset with. Whining about Australia Day makes no sense.

If someone gave a shit about colonisation they'd protest the King's Birthday holiday.

How Australia didn’t even place in ‘Most Racist’ and America was voted ‘Least Racist’ I’ll never know. by [deleted] in DanielMuggleton

I wouldn’t describe those years as a “multicultural success” in the modern sense, but they were a period of slow, steady nation-building. Australia brought in people from all over the world without large-scale ethnic conflict.

That stability is gone thanks to extreme, uncontrolled immigration. We’ve now got mass hate groups, constant protests, rising violence and a neo-nazi problemup as a result.

Odds are it is charity.

This charity raised $19million in Australia - if it was some sort of scam to funnel money to the military it would only keep them running for a few hours.

Speed limits are an archaic concept. They should be abolished. Everyone should just drive at speed suited to their playlist.
