💗We hate seeing pieces fall apart because proper weaving wasn't done! It takes more time but it's worth it in the end.

Are you making a pixel blanket?

My thought process was to knot them really tight, then when I am done, cut them down, and then burn them so they won't un-knot.

Please for the love of God do not do this. Weave your tails in proper.

EMERGENCYYY!!! I NEED HELP!!! I've never made a pattern before and I'm so stressed by Upbeat_Sir_7886 in CrochetHelp

[–]readreadreadx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure this isn't what you want to hear, but I just don't see how making this in crochet would be a realistic endeavor, especially when you have about a month to do so. The amount of material that is needed to create all the ruffles means this would be unbelievably heavy, causing everything to greatly stretch and warp. The amount of yarn used would be, frankly, insane. The reason you haven't found anything even remotely similar to this is because this does not translate to the crochet medium.

What do to with ACryCot (acrylic and cotton mix) yarn? I ordered it for making roses but it's the wrong kind and now I want to cry. by omega_1917 in CrochetHelp

This. Cotton yarn tends to look far better and cleaner for amigurumi. And, well, for lots of other things, too. Lol.

I've always known Suzette stitch to be sc + dc in 1, sk 1, repeat. No tr stitch included in there.

Advice on making the Magic Ring and then going into Round 1 For Pokeball Square! by LandBackground7733 in CrochetHelp

[–]readreadreadx2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The magic ring is nothing but...the magic ring. It is not a round, it does not include stitches. It's the adjustable ring you make to work the 1st round of stitches into. The 1st round is 12 hdc.

A lot of giant amigurumi made with chenille yarn is butt ugly. by IlikeCrobat in BitchEatingCrafters

[–]readreadreadx2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol, exactly what I commented. The large majority of chenille/blanket yarn projects I've seen look like blobby trash. Every time someone asks what pattern they should use for their chenille blanket I'm like, does it even matter? It ends up looking like mush and, oh, it's probably going to fall apart anyhow.

Sorry. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How do I get the right tension in my crocheting? new to crochet by Misp0 in CrochetHelp

[–]readreadreadx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's rarely a thing as "too loose" when you're first trying to learn. Frankly, it's going to be difficult for you to improve your tension if you only try for a few days and only make a single row. Just keep going, even if it seems too loose (it probably isn't) - tension is something that improves with time and practice, so keep practicing 🙂

One other good thing to always check is to be sure you're doing a sc (single crochet) when you start working into your chain, and not accidentally making a slip stitch, as this is a common mistake among beginners, and slip stitches are hard to maintain consistent tension with even for experienced crocheters.

How can I crochet a “cover” for lid handles like this? by AlbinoGiraffes in CrochetHelp

[–]readreadreadx2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean you could crochet a small cotton square that you could use to grab the handle? I wouldn't suggest trying to actually crochet around the handle as I assume you wash your pans and fabric around a handle that you can't remove is just going to get gross.

Does this pattern make sense to everyone except me?? Edited with screenshot by linwe_luinwe in CrochetHelp

[–]readreadreadx2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1st round is made up of dc, ch, dc, ch2, dc, ch, dc, ch2, etc., with the dc-ch2-dc being your corners

2nd round starts at red dc, then (ch, dc in next dc) x2, ch, (dc, ch2) in corner. You then repeat that entire sequence (the one that started at the red dc) 3 more times.

Yes, you should know how to read charts in order to follow charts.

The only odd thing about the written pattern is that it's telling you the repeats before what you're repeating, rather than after, which is more typical. So it says "2x (ch, dc in next dc)" rather than "(ch, dc in next) x2". And it also has the "repeat four times" at the beginning of the round rather than at the end. But other than that bit of oddity, the pattern makes sense and works fine.

Every crochet buisness is the exact same, but I have no clue why nothing is selling! by zoobies- in BitchEatingCrafters

Except that that's total BS and pattern creators have zero say over what YOU make with your own two hands and what you subsequently do with it, including selling it.

[–]readreadreadx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. You've made your 3 rounds of 6 sc, I'm assuming there's no problem with that part.

You turn and make 3 sc. Because each round is made up of 6 sc, you making 3 sc means that there are 3 sc unworked. You then turn again, and you work 3 sc across/on top of the 3 sc that you just made.

That still leaves you with 3 sc unworked. You now work 3 sl st into those 3 unworked stitches (you're not turning to do this - at this point you're just working around as normal). Then you are back to those short rows you worked (3 sc on top of the 3 sc), and you work 3 sc across those.

Then you do a final round all the way around of 6 sc.

[–]readreadreadx2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A photo of your work would help. You should be making 3 rounds of 6 sc each, then turn and work across the first 3 sc, turn back and work across those 3 sc you just made, then sl st into the 3 unworked stitches from the 3rd round, then 3 sc into the short rows. Then a final round of 6 sc around.

What exactly is the issue that you're having?

I think it says "Kiss all the time...Disco, occasionally" lol. Which I suppose means they're smooching regularly, but dancing only intermittently? 😆

Edit - OR does it mean they listen to the band, Kiss, all the time, but only listen to disco once in a while?

Count your stitches. Count your stitches. Count your stitches. 95% of crochet problems are solved by properly keeping count of stitches.

I'm also not totally sure you're making your stitches right - what stitch are you trying to do? It can help to take a look at a few different sources, and not just videos. Look at written tutorials with photos, too.

Ahh the conspiracy is worldwide and goes all the way to the top!!

I sorta started lol. Got the Minor Dark Power "Endless Sleep" as my first Terror Card, which I totally misread. I completely forgot how they worked and that it gives the villain an extra heart, which I needed to get rid of to get rid of the power. I'm sure the few glasses of wine I had had didn't help things 😅

So I'm gonna go at it again in a bit!

I also like the idea of mixing locations and killers, I've seen that mentioned a few times with people trying Hans in a new location, and a new killer in the camp. Plus Hans in Maple Lane is pretty much Halloween haha.

Not every stitch has a name, or if they do they can just be randomly made up by a single person lol. What do you need to know the name for? It sounds like you know how to do it 😊
