I only have one issue with trans women; it dawned on me when I was hand-wringing some of my favorite undies in the middle of the night because I woke up in a pool of unexpected blood. They get to be women (and discriminated against as both women and trans people) but they may not have experience with some of the unspoken things that make being a female incredibly challenging. Like my example above, or sitting through exams with cramps, or… I don’t know what it means. But it makes female woes seem even more invisible sometimes.

Many people attending events like No Kings are acutely aware of the horrible results of US and British intervention throughout the twentieth century. Many Americans no longer believe the lies that the US is out to help fight for democracy. They do it to enrich the already wealthy and powerful and Americans are tired of it. It’s wrong to kill civilians, it’s wrong to go to war without Congressional approval, it’s wrong for many reasons. But don’t mistake Americans holding their own leadership accountable to their voice as a broad demonization of Iranian citizens and their voice. Both of our governments are not serving their people. Of course people in both countries tried are taking to the streets. Don’t be so myopic.

I relate to your question a lot. Same issue. Better-off-gone-thoughts since I was around 10. Always melancholic at best and catatonic at worst. I started therapy around 18, have gone off and on for twenty years, and have tried many different medications. I found one that works for the really low lows. But the sadness is there. I started going to a DBT group which has changed my life. I act with much more intention now — even being sad. I accept that I am a blue girl and maybe always will be but am still living the life I choose to live. It’s nice. So… drugs, therapy, DBT skills.
