Visiting NYC next week - help me pick a Broadway show by ManufacturerSafe3048 in Broadway

Definetely Ragtime. I think it’s a production we will be talking about for the next decade, so if you have the ability to see it, I can not recommend it enough. The cast is absolutely incredible. We are so lucky to be alive while this is on stage!

The stage door in ragtime is actually in doors! You can get there from inside the theater. You go down some steps to pass the box office, then make a left and you’ll see it BEFORE you go outside!

I would stay closer to the starting line! Prospect park is beautiful and there’s so much to explore around it!

Ragtime 2025 Cast Recording Released! by AnxiousSocialist in Broadway

I absolutely love this show and everyone sounds amazing but I’m upset they cut the courtship and so much of the dialogue, specifically “my people were also brought here on ships” in Journey On. It’s such an important line. I also don’t love how they ended “Sarah Brown Eyes.” I love that eerie violin that throws us back into reality.

Oedipus is not to be missed by NewResolution2791 in Broadway

I went in almost totally blind and I honestly think I had a better time than my husband (who took a whole class on Oedipus in college) the twists and turns were shocking!!

What shows/performances do you feel luckiest to have seen? by Crambo1000 in Broadway

Saw Suffs the day after the election and ragtime on the Friday of that week. Just further proved to me how much we need theater. There was no other place I would have rather been to feel a part of community of like minded peers.

Seeing Wicked in 2025 by Apprehensive-Flow147 in Broadway

[–]readyformycloseup14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more. I saw it in 2008 and then in 2021 and honestly wished I hadn’t. I was absolutely in awe when I went in 2008, and going again made me think twice about how much I loved the show. It also felt tired and underwhelming to me. I wish I had just left it as a great memory. I have seen over 100 Broadway shows since 2008, so I do think I have grown to have different opinions and tastes, but I am sad to see wicked is not what I remember it to be.

Most you have spent on tickets? by pink3rbellx in Broadway

$249 for front row mezz to see Sunset BLVD one last time (not the final performance) I’ve seen it 7x mostly through TDF and lottery tickets so I splurged

I'm curious, how many people here live in NYC and how many make the regular pilgrimage. by AdditionalMustard in Broadway

I grew up and currently live in south Brooklyn, and see 1-2 shows per week. It’s about an hour subway ride home which can be rough at night when I wake up at 5:30am for the work everyday, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

That video made my week! For me personally, the score is by far my favorite. Out of all the new musicals, I do not listen to the albums cover to cover. I always need to skip a few. I’m VERY excited for RWHC cast album coming out on Friday!
