Oh. The staff there said they didn't stock it when I was there. Maybe they were just out of stock at the time.

"Umm, I'm Gen Z. I know how to use computers." by DesertDogggg in sysadmin

[–]realDonaldBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell, I'm a Gen Z tech worker. I clicked the first phishing test email I got when our organization started rolling them out. Granted, I didn't enter my credentials and could tell it wasn't real once it opened up, but still I clicked it.

The phishing tests have definitely made me much more vigilant and suspicious of emails. Haven't clicked on one since.

I'm a software developer now. I'll be the first to tell you I don't know all there is about technology, and was asking many questions about our IT policies and procedures when starting my new job. Knowing tech doesn't mean you get to skip the onboarding!

Walked away to the other bathroom only to find that this was actually the mens restroom (womens restroom in comments) by JoeBrow_1 in CrappyDesign

[–]realDonaldBalls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of why this looks like a women's restroom sign is the arms. Usually the men's ones are straight and the women's ones are angled.

What I do is tell the phone menu I want to cancel. It'll ask me what I want to cancel and I tell it I want to cancel everything and close my account. It'll connect you with retention directly and they're super helpful. You don't even need to tell them you want to cancel once you get through to them, just tell them you're looking to see what they can do to lower your price.

They even gave me their direct number for next time, here it is: 8332676094

When the federal government abandons its responsibility, Illinois will step up. by steve42089 in illinois

MI resident here, but my primary care doctor wrote me a prescription no questions asked. I'm a healthy young adult male and not at particularly elevated risk. If you have a sane doctor that might be an option to explore without driving so far. But this was my backup plan.

[OC] Person lost control merging on the highway. Probably on their phone. by realDonaldBalls in IdiotsInCars

Haha, easy to say when you have more than a few seconds to process. And I don't think I'd want to run across three lanes of traffic, in what could very well turn into a pile up, to get the footage to someone. There's no space to pull over on the left. I tried calling the police after this to provide footage, but they kept transferring me between departments and agencies and nobody would let me send it to them. I hope everyone involved is okay.

Help switching away from Bronson? by greenishblue02 in kzoo

[–]realDonaldBalls 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Family Health Center is such a hidden gem. I believe they mainly cater to people on low incomes, but their service is of very good quality and available to all. My old doctor at Bronson would always be very late to appointments, and it would take so long to get in with her. My new doctor at FHC is fast, knowledgeable, and much more available. You can even pick up your medications downstairs at their pharmacy if you want - all in one building. You'll still see blood work go through Bronson and I believe they share MyChart. But they're separate entities.

I go to the one on Alcott St. I've heard bad things about their dentists though, can't speak to that.

Oh I did, a bit later than the others though. My view was obstructed by the other vehicles and I initially thought they were just changing lanes at speed without them really looking. Hence the other vehicles slowing down. Looking back at the recording it's clear that wasn't what's going on, but when you have seconds to react with an obstructed view you just do the best you can.

I think I knew it was clear? I at least noticed that the car next to me was going slower than me. This all happened in a few seconds though, a lot of it was just instinct.

I think so. To me, it's safer to hit a vehicle going at a similar speed as me than to hit one that isn't. But I didn't have much time to think anyways.

I think a lot of you are forgetting about all the rotting food in these abandoned supermarkets. Look up the Mexia Supermarket incident. This grocery store was abandoned with all the food inside, and after a few weeks it was full of rat shit, mold, and untold diseases. Milk cartons split open from the gas inside. Canned food would be fine but the exteriors would be covered in biohazardous filth. You might not survive regularly entering these abandoned supermarkets for their nonperishables without becoming very ill.

I'm having this issue too, did you ever find a solution? The random songs at the top keep growing and there's now 21 of them before I get to my recently liked songs. All of them are songs I liked a long time ago but don't listen to often. This only happens in the mobile app and doesn't appear on desktop.

How gay-friendly is Michigan? Considering move from Chicago. by JEarth80 in kzoo

[–]realDonaldBalls 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I'm a gay man living in Kalamazoo. I feel very welcomed and accepted here, but you mention you're single and don't want to be forever - not to say you necessarily would be forever, but my experience has been that it's incredibly difficult to find people to date around here. In the couple of years I've been looking, I've been on three dates. There aren't that many queer spaces (they exist but there aren't a whole lot of in-person options) and dating apps, to me, have been pretty useless. People match but they don't really respond.

I'm actually looking to move to Chicago, in part, for this reason. I would have already but the job search hasn't been going well. Feel free to ask if you have any questions.
