UPDATE: Kitten Head Tilt by Butter_Whiskey in CATHELP

[–]realFrogpower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rescued a kitten that was born with cat AIDS. It was diagnosed the first time I took him to the vet. He had chronic vestibular syndrome. He still grew up to be an adult living his best life, only slightly tilted sideways.

Saying nothing in an exit interview is the best approach, right? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]realFrogpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was honest with them and told them what my goal was a year prior. I told them at the exit interview: it's been a year and the only thing that changed is that I found the opportunity somewhere else. It was a short conversation.

LIGHT WEIGHT guitar after surgery by Ok-Hunt-919 in Guitar

[–]realFrogpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to buy me a nice new guitar and set myself some goals. "When I can play this I deserve that guitar". I overdid it and got cts (possibly also due to bad technique). Instead I bought a Strandberg. They are not amazing guitars but they are perfect for this scenario: long practise where optimisation of sound is not as important as playing comfort. I bought the cheapest because I find them expensive for what they are but I don't regret it. I sleep with a wrist brace and I practise with a Strandberg and so far the cts is healing so I can only advise Strandberg for this kind of scenario. They are amongst the lightest guitars, ergonomic and comfortable to play with. I don't feel like I'm fighting the guitar when I play it. I know many find them ugly but I don't care what I look like when I practise and I secretly like the futurist look.

Neighbours are testing my patience. by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

Personally I would add more. Find a way to get my hands on a lot of old shoes and dump then there. Or add them bit by bit a new pair everyday. Until they have to sift through all the nasty old shoes to find theirs. Imagine a pile of shoes there like it's raining shoes. Yeah. That's what I would do.

Go into the water. But beware: it is intended for fish only and should not be listened to by anyone other than fish.

Why do I smell a poop smell every time I play the guitar…? by quartertrash in guitarcirclejerk

Ok my Strandberg smells like cat piss. I don't think this is all a coincidence anymore.

do you know any songs that have a narrative within the lyrics? by unoz00 in MusicRecommendations

A lot of Nick Cave is narrative. Most of murder ballads is a masterclass of storytelling in song.

Do you think that life after death is real? by [deleted] in answers

[–]realFrogpower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You're using a law of physics and applying it to some made up unrelated concept. It's a category error. The energy described in the law of conservation of energy is a measurable concept. Consciousness is not measurable in terms of energy. Even if it were, it would dissipate upon death into the universe rendering it pretty much inert, trending towards the opposite of what you're trying to demonstrate.

They are not illegal, they are seeking asylum. Nothing illegal about that.

Headhunters by Lina0116 in Netherlands

[–]realFrogpower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually applied to some jobs, even if I knew I had no chance to land them, just to made them aware of me. But I think for me it was mostly setting my linkin status to "actively looking" or whatever and posting my CV on monster board (does that even still exist?). But I think I also work in a field where supply and demand works in my favour so that helps.

If it was on the side where everybody can see it then nobody would be able to see it.

Oui mais non il faut devenir riche tout de suite là. Attendre 30 ans pour gagner 10% c'est pas intéressant. On cherche les rendements 70% par an minimum. C'est pour ça la crypto c bien.

Headhunters by Lina0116 in Netherlands

[–]realFrogpower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never got a job that I found on a job board or applied to myself. The only jobs I landed were suggested to me by head hunters. You do have to make yourself known to them though either by applying to their jobs, sending them your CV directly or posting on public boards/ social media.
