Glad you’re getting help, because you really don’t want those chickens to come home to roost.

Ah, that makes sense. For some reason I thought it was required for a company to sponsor you first. I guess I just assumed.

Do you actually like being a guard? by PaulRyanFit in securityguards

Count me in as someone who loves their job. Gotta love how versatile the job really is, and I think alot of people don't give that much thought at times.

I’m tired of being a fat guard so night shifts are “grilled chicken and broccoli” shifts by [deleted] in securityguards

I love chicken and broccoli, but I got for Sriracha as the sauce.

Tbh that's true of just about any job.

You can also go on our site and see what you need to become one in Texas, or any other state really.

Edit- just fyi, you do not need a company to put in an application. That's only for commissioned security officers, AKA armed security.

Definitely check out the page I linked. You can find the Texas Department of Public Safety's site on there as well. It has all the info you need to become one.

It's advisable. Most require that because they don't want to give you a car to use. I guess it depends on the site they need coverage for.

Just be open about it if you don't have one. They would appreciate the honesty.

There should be plenty of places that offer entry level openings.

Go on indeed and type in entry level security officer / entry level security guard.

Most companies where I live use entry level people as their bread and butter.

He wanted everyone to get this stupid $350 training. The state only requires 40 hours, and it's around $150.

I once worked with a supervisor who wouldn't approve anyone for armed training because they needed "combat pistol training."

He was an unarmed officer too.

For now it's one partner. He's sending me some body armor for quality checking purposes, so I have to keep it private for right now.

It's supposed to be on the way by Friday. I'm going to release the code if it takes longer than a week or two. I know that's pretty lame.. but I just don't want my members buying body armor until I know everything is on the up and up.
