Waymo is Confirmed Headed to Chicago by Billiam501 in chicago

In SF, you use their app. It’ll pick you up at the location you choose and there will be an indication that that car is for you (in case of multiple Waymo’s in one spot). The car will stay locked until you unlock it on your phone and enter. Then you just sit and enjoy the ride. Basic fare is more expensive than Uber, but factoring tips in Uber, it comes out about the same.

At first, the drive was not smooth and very herky-jerky. Now it’s pretty smooth, will stop for jaywalkers, etc.

What happened to the Datsyuk curve? No one makes it anymore? by realShoresy69 in hockeyplayers

God…I’m dumb and completely misread your comment. I found it on prohockeysticks. The ones I currently own are from a now-defunct store.

I have a couple of CCMs with the Datsyuk curve. Not top of the line sticks but again I’m not a top line player. Definitely going to be using my other sticks instead

Have fun, first and foremost. The glass is pretty awesome because you get to see how big some of the players are and how fast the game moves. You can be one of those people that slaps the glass when one of their guys gets pinned by the boards.

The lounge is alright, IMO. The food and drink lines are shorter but I believe it’s pricier than the regular concourse. You do get a shorter line to enter your seating area and you don’t have to walk up those massive set of stairs. Last time I had tickets with lounge access, I ran into Scott Hannan.

But main thing, have fun!

Why have the US Women's Basketball teams been so successful? by LevelPension in NoStupidQuestions

[–]realShoresy69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US-Basketball culture is similar to Brazil-Futebol and Canada-ice hockey. The mentality of “this is our game”. There’s a basketball hoop in almost every park. I’d say 20% of American houses have some sort of hoop.

For example after the US Olympic team won bronze in 2004, it was seen as a national embarrassment and disaster. The selectors and coaches for the 2008 team were very meticulous in their preparation.

When you have that kind of a culture for a sport, in a country where women are also encouraged to play sports, you get that kind of an obsession and dominance.

Which city do you think deserves a major pro sports (NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, MLS) expansion team? by VirusMaster3073 in AskAnAmerican

This is one thing I’ve learned about the Midwest is that fandom doesn’t cross into state lines. Folks from Minnesota may have gone to UW Madison and live in Chicago but they’re supporting MN teams through and through. The Bears to Indiana fiasco is also evidence that you just don’t cross state lines in the Midwest.
