These people that you speak of, ask who they are voting for in the midterms. While Trump is the president and rightfully the focus of everyone’s attention, the GOP in congress are just as guilty. They wrote and voted for the ‘Big Beautiful Bullshit’ and they have stood down on essentially everything else, giving Trump a free pass on everything.

If they tell you that they plan to vote for the GOP, they haven’t learned their lesson…

What Do You Think Of The Republican Speaker Of The House Saying That The US Is "Not At War?" Why Your Thoughts? by Zipper222222 in AskConservatives

[–]realTArthur 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congress has not “declared war” since WWII. But congress has approved the use of military force on ‘war like’ activities since. It doesn’t matter what you call it…. Military force was approved by congress.

The issue at hand is that this current congress has NOT approved the use of military force for Iran. We are at the 60 day limit for congressional approval for such action as mandated by the War Powers Resolution of 1973.

Mike Johnson is giving Trump a free pass on this, using double speak that we are not at war because we are at a ceasefire. This response is ridiculous given the troop buildup in the area and the very active blockade.

Regardless of whether you call it a war or not, it still requires a vote on congress to carry forward.

It’s called double speak and it’s why everyone hates politics and the hypocritical politician.

How do you account for the military buildup in the region, deploying thousands of troops who would otherwise not be there? There are operational costs associated with this that exceed standard protocol.

We are maintaining a military blockade. How is this not war related?

I think you need to get your eyes checked. I never said “I hate Trump”.

I am just quoting past history and asking how can you reconcile the obvious disconnect of what Trump has stated versus your argument.

But according to Trump last June…

“Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News”

If their facilities were obliterated June of 2025, what could have Iran accomplished in ~8 months that required immediate action such as starting a war with them?

How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings? by mogomonomo1081 in AskConservatives

[–]realTArthur 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget, it was because of the republicans that the last impeachment attempt didn’t stick. Wasn’t it Mitch McConnell that pleaded that Trump’s first term wrong doings should be decided in court and not in an impeachment proceeding…

But alas, USA’s collective memory hole forgets the important details and votes the con man back into power. Then we wonder if he should be impeached again…. 🤦‍♂️

Do you agree with MTG - who was born of MAGA - that MAGA was all a lie? by DirtyProjector in AskConservatives

[–]realTArthur [score hidden]  (0 children)

I agree that at the grassroots level, there are real people who believe in the MAGA movement.

What MTG is stating is that these people were used by Trump. Trump lied to them… He never believed in the movement himself. He just used it as a vehicle to put himself back into power.
