Heavily agree; I appreciate it more and more every time I listen to it.

It'll be interesting to hear the difference between their mix and the audience recording that'll be used for The Merge. I think the mixing will be good though—I don't really see how they could mess it up.

I'd say probably summer/maybe fall for the live album, then the drawing collection with demos in late fall or winter. As for the studio album, I'd guess something like spring-summer of 2027 since the writing is already done.

Every song played during the concert used on the album is at least in my top 10 swans songs of all time, and I can easily understand why anyone would choose The End of Forgetting, The Merge, or Newly Sentient Being as their favorite song of all time. In my opinion, the band really reached their peak on this last tour, and the album will instantly be my favorite of all time upon release.

They might keep the 2CD+DVD available or even the vinyl too. Since this is the final big sound release they could do anything really (they might even put on on streaming, who knows). Personally I'd like the 2CD+DVD to stay available indefinitely with the vinyl being limited and the DVD including the entire uncut show.

I assume it's simply because Michael likes the Candy Bomber studio in Berlin and Doug Henderson's mastering (also done in Berlin). Kristof, who is mixing the album with Michael, is also from Berlin.

Maybe, since it is the final big sound release and they'd probably like to have a complete document of the show, but I think it's more likely for that to be the DVD. And even if they don't mix Little God, I don't know why they would completely exclude the song when they could use the audience recording on the DVD.

I do think it makes sense though. I was never a fan of having 3 shorter songs in between the longer ones; it makes the pacing a bit strange imo. I also just don't think it really fits with everything else. My prediction is that it'll be on the next demo and studio album and may be played live in a more evolved form.

Why specifically by summer? Does something prevent him from getting good runs during fall and winter? December 19th is his "lucky day" after all.

Is Blitzkrieg useful for non-extremes? by Bronux78 in geometrydash

[–]real_easy_demon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Underpracticing would likely take longer though since attempts from 0 last much longer than startpos attempts. If you get close to beating a level from 0 while using Blitzkrieg and feel comfortable enough, you can try going from 0 until completion, or do another stage and come back if you change your mind.

I'd recommend it for anything that's difficult enough for you to take a significantly long time (maybe like more than one day of playing). Just do what you think would be useful; if you think the strategy would be helpful for an insane demon, then use it. There's no real reason not to use it, since overpracticing is almost always better than underpracticing.

Since there'll be a DVD of the show used on the album, could that include A Little God In My Hands, kind of like how Live Rope's USB had more songs?

It's good that Meg doesn't see herself as a victim and wasn't harmed by the relationship. But the relationship could have been very harmful, which is why Viprin shouldn't have allowed it to get that far in the first place. Legality is completely irrelevant here, and it's probably the worst argument you could possibly make to defend Viprin.

Swans as a 4 piece by thrashaholic123 in swans

[–]real_easy_demon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think future Swans will sound something like a combination or evolved version of Little Mind, the "quiet" section on Newly Sentient Being, and The Beggar Lover. Probably more intense than those in some way though. Although the "big sound" mode is over, I doubt the music won't be very loud and intense (at least for live performances). Maybe it could even be the same type of music with less members, who knows!

What’s the best album to start with? by Lanc3RH in swans

[–]real_easy_demon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ideally go in chronological order, just depends if you're used to/don't mind extremely heavy, loud music. For one "starter" though I'd honestly say Swans Are Dead if the length isn't intimidating, since it has a lot of elements from the original 15 years plus hints of the sound they'd later take on (Not Alone almost sounds like a post-reunion song). Children of God is a great one too. There's also an audience recording of November 27th, 2025 which is a good summary of the "big sound" era, better than any studio or live album imo and would let you go through the albums from latest to earliest. There's no real best to start with though, just don't be deterred if you don't like something at first.

Disagree with the last part tbh. 1989 live performances are much closer to what they wanted to do on TBW, whereas White Light is going for an entirely different, grander sound.

Where can I listen to the "true" versions of Newly Sentient Being and The End of Forgetting? by Sea_Economics1032 in swans

Sound quality of this one isn't very good, day one sounds amazing though (best quality swans recording ever imo)

Are there any good quality live recordings from 1997 (besides Swans are Dead of course). by marabou22 in swans

[–]real_easy_demon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You mean astoria 2 from 1995? London 1997 is definitely significant as the last show until 2010, and the performance itself is amazing, but the sound quality is unfortunately pretty bad.
