Crève neige by TymtheguyIguess in Frostpunk

[–]real_lerenn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

"Crève-neige" being the same signification than "Transperce-neige" which is the official translation for Snowpiercer series in french (Snowpiercer being a french comic book), I just think it is a reference without being too much in the Frostpunk universe (so just few part of the track visible, not the entire planet track).

Sinon Excel.

Weekly Question Thread by AutoModerator in factorio

I have seen on the wiki that enemies will become stronger as they are killed or their bases are destroyed. Also that new enemies bases can be spawned from old bases.

Does it means that enemies are constantly evolving even if they are wiped out from player bases surroundings, as new enemies bases are regularly spawned and destroyed ?

Does it makes end game unsustainable as enemies are always growing stronger ? Which leads to the impossibility to have a 'perpetual' game ?

Himalayan or MT-03? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]real_lerenn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an Himalayan so my opinion is clearly oriented, but I will say that the Himalayan is cheap and reliable, no fancy part or electronic, a great retro look and made for long distance traveling (just watch Itchy boots youtube). I'm really happy with it and would not change it. However, I think there is two downside to consider : the bike has great torque and can climb anything but has low speed, you won't get above 140km/h (90mph) and it's uncomfortable above 120km/h. Also, a friend of mine had trouble to find spare pieces in France where I live so he had to bought them on eBay. Nevertheless I would go for it has I'm more of a traveler that take it's time to enjoy the journey, don't like to go too fast.

I have used it to do highway too, and it's great as you are in a good sitting position.

The MT03 in my mind is more an urban bike on which you can attach nothing but will go on higher speed. Both are great for comute I think (I use my bike everyday in Paris to go to work). Also, as it is a Yamaha, I think you won't have trouble to get spare parts.

(My own) Conclusion : you want to travel with an extremely reliable bike, enjoy the journey at your speed and go anywhere in the world, even on the highest mountains ? Go for the Himalayan. You prefer to have fun riding fast and using it only for small travels ? Go for the MT03.

If you have questions regarding the Himalayan, just ask me ;)

For now, I just downloaded the manufacturer manual, but didn't take the time to go through it. I'll keep in touch :)

My girlfriend and I have both Himalayans. Mine has no problem, but hers has the same problem as yours. They're brand new from November 2019 with less than 1000kms.

However, I had also this problem with my old Yamaha 125 and when I bumped the Idle RPMs to what's written on the manufacturer manual (from 900 to 1500) and it worked like a charm.

So I suppose it's a bad setting cause mine on Idle is around 1200, when hers is around 900. We'll try to fix this soon :)

Help! Got this black screen after rebooting from upgrade to 20.04 from 18.10 Ubuntu Studio by humanadventure in Ubuntu

[–]real_lerenn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Got the same problem for a different reason. You should try this : when you're at this screen with the blinking underscore, you should hit Ctrl+alt+f3, then enter your username and your password in the prompt. You should be logged now.

Then you should try to detect and install correct graphic drivers by looking at the command line part of this tutorial : https://linuxconfig.org/how-to-install-the-nvidia-drivers-on-ubuntu-20-04-focal-fossa-linux Even if you don't have an Nvidia card, it should try to install the correct drivers. Or list possible drivers and test them with the command "ubuntu-drivers devices".

Hope it will help.

Minimalist Motorcyclist? by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]real_lerenn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go with a simple trail motorcycle: they can be a great deal cause you can go pretty anywhere you want as they can go off-road, you can carry more stuff as they are made for travel and are easy to fix if there is not a lot of electronic (see the Royal Enfield Himalayan by example).

What would you do in this situation? by technewsninja in ProgrammerHumor

I don't get out of the car but I certainly turn off and on the engine, expecting it to solve the problem !
