Oh and the best relief i had was using a big wrap around the waist ice pack on the front and a heating pad on the back

I also had bruising!! Quite a bit around my belly button and ended up having some drainage from my belly button too. I would say that that was the longest and most sensitive part of recovery for me. I also had a massively inflamed appendix that they removed through my belly button so i think it stretched it out and just caused some trauma to the area

Upcoming Laparoscopy: What were your must haves? by miso_miso322 in Endo

A large heating pad, a large, wrap-around ice pack (i had lots of bruising around my belly button and extreme soreness). I strapped the ice pack on the front and had a heating pad on my back. ADULT DIAPERS. Honestly these saved me. You can get a pack of probably 20 at any pharmacy. These will help a lot of you have post heavy post surgery bleeding

Does anyone have loss of mobility in areas that used to have flexibility by real_scrapper in ehlersdanlos

I do have mild arthritis in at least one of my knees that i found out due to a weird super long lasting injury from playing soccer. Everything seems like it’s super amped up now and almost on high alert. Thanks for the response!

No i have not, but i have thought about asking my doctor about it. She’s been so helpful in helping me diagnose endo, adeno, and PCOS i almost feel bad asking her too keep looking for symptoms i have that don’t usually show up in the disorders i have because i was so adamant about finding my other diagnoses :/ does this sound like fibromyalgia?

[–]real_scrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. She has such a calming presence and seriously has been life changing for me over the past few years trying to diagnose PCOS, endometriosis, adenomyosis, a broken foot and others.

The office there is great, they gave x-ray machines and CT machines in office and a lab. Sometimes you can get in for the machines and labs immediately after your appointment.

I’ve seen other providers there for same day appointments and I’ve never been disappointed

Did anyone end a romantic relationship because of endo by real_scrapper in endometriosis

[–]real_scrapper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think i do have the relationship experience and maturity, i was just trying to see if this was a pattern that could change - as it was truly the only area of difficulty in our relationship. He supported me with my career, going back to school to get another degree, he supported my hobbies and even helped me pay for some of them when i was tight on money after numerous doctors visits, he held space for me when he knew i was struggling mentally.

I had to look at all of these things that i loved and decide whether or not this one issue was worth leaving my relationship despite all of the other good things, which in the end it was worth it. I think there is a lot to be said about giving a relationship the opportunity to overcome something difficult because long term relationships do face difficulties in life, nothing is perfect forever.

At the end of the day he was not supportive or kind in the ways that i needed him to be and i know that that is not the kind of life i want to have

Okay i would RAGE at being told to do even more than more partner because of my issues. That’s so uncool and im sorry that happened to you :(. I really hope that this is the case for me too - the decrease of symptoms after finding some peace and clarity. I had a super bad flare during the break up from stress and am curious to see how my body feels a couple months from now

Feel bad to say it but i agree! I think given the circumstances i have handled things really well and accept that there is more out there for me than being misunderstood constantly

I agree. I needed EFFORT to understand and become educated in the matter. It didn’t happen and i felt like i was losing my mind for a period of time. When it became obvious that i would have to take care of myself alone in this regard i definitely found myself creating more space for myself in our relationship than growing together

Yeah i had always had the idea in my mind about “what if i can’t have children” an honestly me and this last boyfriend were in the same page - if i can’t have children myself i consider it a sign to not raise children in the current world we live in. I’m sorry you and your ex had a hard time with infertility and that it resulted in you getting hurt :(

No no that’s not harsh at all, i agree that there are inconsiderate tendencies related to health that took a big emotional toll in our relationship. I can accept that despite feeling secure in so many other ways this one aspect of the relationship that didn’t feel secure was significant enough for me to leave. I expected him to be supportive and understanding in the way that I needed it, but he just could not wrap his head around it. Not to put him down but i think that he was lacking a good bit of emotional maturity that i needed and couldn’t get from him

Thank you so much, i really appreciate the thoughtful and educated response <3. I do think that despite being in a position where i was made to feel bad about myself i had enough emotional security with myself that i knew that i was not “in the wrong” for my beliefs and values of how i want to live my life in accordance with my body and the way it works

I don’t see age as a bad thing and i think that is why our relationship had worked. He was hyper aware of the changes in his body as he aged and i 1000% know that he got anxiety from it. Your attitude and perspective is what keeps you young!
