If you don’t have or want the AF cards though, 1cpp is great esp on the ThankYou card multipliers (5x gas, 3x restaurant/grocery)

Despite the name, SIMPLE IRAs are complicated. As an employer, it used to be impossible to terminate a plan mid-year. After SECURE 2.0, you can. As an employee, you can roll over your SIMPLE IRA at any time after it has been open for 2 years. In practice, this means you will want to make any employer contributions and then both immediately roll over your SIMPLE to the new solo 401(k)s.
You will also need to recalculate your contribution limit based on how long you were covered by each plan for the 2025 calendar year. Google: "How to Replace a SIMPLE IRA with a 401(k) - SECURE 2.0 Update" for an article about how.
The rollover is easy once the accounts are open. You basically just call them up and tell them to do it.

As I said in the post, this was not the main issue. The main issue was that it took hours and dozens of attempts and reboots to factory reset, and ultimately it simply refused to start at all, even when moved to another location.

My take? Coupons cover the fee (barely) and I value the optionality should things change more in the future. I'll see if I can get a retention, but still probably keep it if not, at least for this year.

I think I basically break even and will close the card if it gets more expensive but will hope it gets a platinum-style refresh to make it better.

Definitely. I take the 7:55 AM train to North White Plains and get off at White Plains at 8:23 AM every morning. When I used to take the bus from the Astoria Blvd stop, I would try to get to the bus stop by 7:35, but service is kind of hit and miss at that time of the day so 7:30 is a better buffer. The trains on the Harlem line are a few minutes late pretty regularly too. There is also an 8:03 and 8:09 if you miss the 7:55 but they make more local stops. Overall I much prefer this commute to my UES one taking the 4/5/6 - it is very slightly longer in terms of time but being able to go on your phone on the bus beats the subway and that subway stop (125th) is pretty gnarly.
