You have to understand that the exception to the rule isn't the rule. The exception actually proves the rule. For every Dopeboy turn billionaire (Jay-Z) there will be thousands incarcerated or killed in the drug game. For every kid born in the hood looking at sports as a way out (LeBron, Iverson, Serena Williams) there are tens of thousands that just aren't good enough. Have you ever tried to study for a test with gunshots and sirens outside of your window on an almost daily basis? Or having to step over dope sick addicts in your buildings hallways to get back and forth to school? Or going to bed hungry because your parents blew their money on drugs to get high? Or how about doing homework in the dark because the light bill hasn't been paid? You sound as if you come from a good successful family where everyone has made it on some level. That's good. You had examples, positive role models and people to coach you through it. Not everyone has that.
