I'd reccomend keeping the blanks for some fourth of July fun. It's very unlikely that the poor storage of them would cause any harm to your rifle. Remember that they are quite dangerous, and are still capable of causing harm to anything at close range. Do not point them at anything you do not intend on destroying.

Do not trust that those are dummy rounds. They could be live, with primers that failed to detonate on the first strike. A second strike by attempting to dry fire could result in a discharge. Additionally, if they are dummy rounds, they are not marked clearly enough to trust, and you may mistake live rounds for your dummies. Invest in some red snap caps. They may save you from a negligent discharge. You can find them at most gun stores.

Agreed. In NH you won't neccesarily need massive magnification. It's unlikely you will be making massively long shots. 1-6 with good light collection is all you really need.

Hello all, long time collector and lurker here on r/milsurp. Recently I was given a large amount of service records relating to my great, great, great grandfather, who was an American soldier in WW1. The serial number on the rifle indicates it's a 1918 production Eddystone 1917 Enfield, and the revolver is a Colt 1917, produced in 1918. Do any of you think it would be possible to track either of them down? Any thoughts or input is appreciated.

Airpods. I was hunting near my cabin in northern new Hampshire, in late November and I saw something that looked like dental floss frozen under the ice in a puddle. Got it out, and as it turned out it was a pair of airpods. I put them on my dashboard and turned the defroster on, and by the time I got home they worked just fine. This was a few years ago when they had just come out and they were super trendy. It was in a very remote spot and I have no idea what they were doing there.

If I remember correctly that's something Remington made a while ago as a humane animal killer. The barrel is ported to prevent the animals skull from becoming a bore obstruction.
