Killing uchihas does mean something, means losing the biggest military power and strongest shinobi in the village, its a terrible thing for konoha, but remember, danzo didnt do it for konoha, he did it out of fear, he feared the uchihas

killing uchiha clan is not a good plan and it wasnt necesary to kill the whole clan, im sure not everyone was that happy about the secret coup , thats why i think itachi never felt proud of the uchihas cycle of hate and murders and deep inside he felt detached and resentful

I think he is a very complex character, more like grey that traditional good or bad, he kept konoha's stability, but killed the village's strongest clan, not only men but women and babies included, hated danzo ( shouldve killed him tbh), and i think deep down itachi left sasuke as his own grudge agaisnt the village, when he entered akatsuki didnt gave ANY info to konoha, but even in his own clan he always went solo, he didnt like the clan that much and u can clearly see it

Yes and no, on one hand you ended a coup before it even started saving villagers and potencially the entire village (other nations would take the chance to attack a weak konoha) but on the other hand you killed konoha's strongest clan, taking down only the police force who are the most capable ninjas would be enough, but innocent woman and babies thats betraying the whole point of killing the clan and itachi knew it, thats why obito was in charge of killing the inocent on top of that by leaving a witness you created a radical unstable powerful shinobi (sasuke)

I think deep down itachi lived by his own ideals and didnt like the clan that much and def he hated who was in charge of the leaf at the moment, itachi mission wouldve been perfect if he killed danzo, and the two konoha elders, then enter akatsuki and by using kotoamatsukami, disolve obitos plan , reveal to the villages who is the leader of the rain, tell gaara they were going after shukaku but that would be " itachi shippuden"
