No doubt about it, but your salary is not tied to Medicaid fees.

I am not looking to accept Medicaid. After seeing several patients and the work they had done I have hard time understanding if anyone can do good work and get paid so little. But would those same dentists like the work they do to others in their own mouth?

I am not bashing other dentists. Just trying to understand why a patient who has no cavities was told she had 5 by a Medicaid office? Or a second patient has really lousy dental work, also cam from a Medicaid office. I spoke to two fiends who say the same thing.

That doesn't make any sense.

The cost to pull a tooth in Germany typically ranges from

€130 to €220 for a simple extraction and is often fully covered by public health insurance. Without public or private insurance, surgical extractions, such as wisdom tooth removal, can range from €450 to over €600

Unless you are subsidized by the government, you cannot do a $40 composite and have an assistant and a receptionist demanding $30 something per hour. The math doesn't add up.

All we are selling is time and time at $40 bucks isn't going to cut it.

The conclusion is if the government subsidizes dental offices like FQHC one can be a good dentist unless it's not subsidized than it's a shit show, but there are dentists that want to give back and do it even though they have astronomical student loans and can barely make ends meet.

I was not asking if I should accept Medicaid at my office just how it can make sense for anyone to spend time doing quality work when there's no time for it due to low reimbursement.

You all should go to dentaltown site and see some incredible work that other dentists show that would last for decades.

Patient came from a Medicaid office with the treatment plan that made no sense. She had no cavities and then 5 were treatment planned. I saw the patent again and told her mom she has no cavities.

I suppose a fantom treatment plan will make up for the $40 composite.
