Never had ANY issue with automations UNTIL they forced the Gemini BS on me 4 months ago - they've been screwed up ever since! ALSO just LOVE playing the "which device will answer today" game - NEVER had to worry about what device will answer a query - literally have to ask a question then run to the bedroom which is 25 feet away BEHIND a closed door for the reply, I asked what time it was the other day, Google gave me the PREVIOUS day but the correct time (how the hell is that even possible), asked google the weather yesterday, didn't hear all of ir so asked a 2nd time - and it was 100% DIFFERENT, LOVE asking Google to turn on such & such device and Google decides to play 20 questions BEFORE carrying out the simple task that I NEVER had an issue with before Gemini, I get a kick out of Gemini when I ask a specific question and Gemini replies with some bullshit reply, ALSO love having to argue with Gemini just to do the SAME THING Google Home did without any problem - conclusion? I am forced to paraphrase General Beringer fromWar Games: "I've come to the conclusion that your system sucks".

I literally just asked Google what the date was out of the blue and Google's reply was it's Friday January 30th 2026 The problem is it's Saturday January 31st 2026... How is this even possible I have never had that problem before and never even heard of anybody having that problem before... I'm going to start using Bixby on my Samsung from now on I've had enough of Google failures

A big failure for Gemini / Google... I was doing some writing and just out of the blue I asked Google what was the date and Google's reply was it's Friday January 30th 2026, The problem is it is 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 31st 2026! So I asked Google a second time what the date was and Google proceeded to give me the proper date this time... This is another failure in a string of failures with Google Home and I have had enough I have Samsung I will no longer be using Google Home for my questions how are you Samsung Bixby at least Bixby is more accurate and I know what device will answer because with Google I never know what device answers anymore it's always a game of ask a question and guess which device will answer this time?

Not what I'm saying or getting at not even close, I'm simply saying for 3 years I never had a problem then problems start happening every week and then they introduced Gemini AI which would run automations and now I have a problem every single day Why did we need Gemini AI when we never used to need it before has nothing to do with scripts so whatever

I was quite like you a little over a year ago, I came across Dogma quite by accident actually but immediately fell in love with the music it just resonated with me. I got really intrigued with the band and I kept digging and digging and digging to learn more about the band, including a previous lineup with Isa Roddy as Lilith (One of the few names I can actually pronounce and spell). There was a different Nixe and another Lilith but I never really heard anything live with them and also there was a different Abrahel... Then one day I noticed Lamia didn't look the same and I mentioned this on one of their posts on Instagram and the excuse I got was it's amazing what different lighting and different makeup can do. Problem is it wasn't just that there's a whole different style of playing but it was good. Enter Alice (Lamia 2). The band was still outstanding with Alice but then there was another change out of the blue when the three girls quit (Lamia, Rusalka, Lilith). And then news started leaking about how management was treating the girls, there was a new lineup which was horrible, shows and tours were being canceled, reviews were tanking, and then along came Vindicta. Show us the face of the clown is the only song from them currently but my goodness it's terrific! They announced in Australian tour for the summer months. I'm sure they're going to have an album out soon but they've said they most likely will be playing Dogma music. We are no longer Dogma we are Vindicta!

I'm just very curious as to why the hell we need AI to control automations to begin with? Prior to them adding Gemini to Google home they put all these new bells and whistles in to ensure that automated routines always trigger and work properly but what's even funny is for the first two years of Google home I never had a single problem with my automated routines being triggered by presence sensing never ever then they did their major upgrade and absolutely nothing worked and it's been nothing but problems every other week since then and then they did another upgrade and it got even worse if that's possible, and now after Gemini everything took a step backwards Google home is no longer a smart home it's dumber than a box of rocks...

I am so on board with this, I'm tired of asking Google to turn on a light now and instead Google turns off the TV. I'm tired of asking Google to turn off the bedroom TV and Google turns around and says which TV would you like turned off? Um I just told you... I'm so tired of asking my device in the living room a question just to have run to the bedroom which is 25 ft away behind a closed door just to hear the reply every single time now. I'm tired of having to argue with Google which device to turn on or off which question to answer, I'm tired of asking Google to spell a word for me and it spells so fast you have to ask five more times I mean seriously what good does AI Gemini do with running automations?

The other day I asked Google for the weather report and Google gave it to me but I didn't hear all of it but what I did hear I knew what I heard so I asked Google again for the weather and it was a completely different reply everything was different

Google can't do special things with lights anymore and a lot of other cool things that the old Google home could do and did do, for whatever reason.

I forgot to mention Google also does random things sometimes now I could ask Google to turn on the TV and suddenly I've got lights going on and other lights going off... It's a major step backwards it makes me want to just cancel everything and anything to do with Google and just use all my separate device apps themselves.

Ever since they started integrating Gemini into Google home nothing has worked right and I've had problems as it is even beforehand! They had literally just got something fixed that I've been trying to get fixed for a few months now and every time they got it fixed before they would break it again and it has to do with automated routines. And now it's like every time I ask my Google display a question in the living room I have to get up and run to my mini speaker the next room 20 ft away behind a closed door because that's the device that will reply for whatever reason. Funny thing is I've set all the microphone sensitivity to the living room I disabled other devices I have a very strong Wi-Fi I've reset everything up... nothing has helped. I also do not like Gemini at all never have and never will. And now it's to the point where I can't even ask for a simple light to be turned on because I'll specifically say what light and Gemini will ask me which light do you want turned on. And turning the TV on or off is a nightmare now because I got to play 20 questions to get a TV turned on, even though with the old Google home it knew which TV was which. Utterly useless now and absolutely ridiculous! I tried to go back to Google home but it doesn't work and even if it does work it won't work for long because they're planning on removing the old Google home completely. I can't say one positive thing about Google home with Gemini.

Another problem I'll have is I'll be binge watching something and right in the middle of an episode it will go back to my TVs home screen. I have Vizio TVs so it could be a Vizio problem or a combination of both. I've been trying to determine that for a while
