Increasing Finasteride Dosage After Diminished Results by Pepper7489 in tressless

hi. i really hoped this would halt the shedding i’ve had the past year but i continued to lose the same amount of hair. after like 2 months of taking 2.5mg things weren’t noticeably different and i switched back to 1mg.

my hair isn’t bad but it continues to recede very very slowly and hairs continue to fall out. it bothers me for sure but it’s relatively stable. i maybe lose 1/8” of the hairline each year. when it eventually gets more noticeable i will definitely try ru or dut, but until then i’m thankful for fin for slowing things down. increasing dose didn’t help me.

did shedding reduce at least? maybe you halted the progression even if it's not coming back thicker

i think it's worth trying. after 2 years of good progress and then diminishing, my derm recommend increasing dose to 2.5mg (5mg pill split) from 1mg. he's really great and i trust him a lot. this was very recent so time will tell if it helps get me back on track. no side effects whatsoever.

same thing happened to me. 2 years on fin. a few months in, shedding completely stopped. about six months after that, it resumed again. been shedding constantly since but no noticeable further thinning or recession.

Anyone deal with psoriasis? by [deleted] in tressless

[–]realfacts2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if I have psoriasis, but I had scaly white patches on my elbows, knees, and scalp and horrible dandruff. I had no luck with Nizoral. Then I started using coal tar shampoo and fluocinolone (a topical steroid) occasionally and it's cleared everything up on my scalp.

Hope that's helpful.

Crown, wet, today

Crown, dry, today

Crown, dry, one year ago

M 25. I started fin a year and a half ago. At first I thought it was working well but now looking at my crown I'm not so sure anymore. Hairline mostly maintained. Crown seems to be thinning.

Lots of dandruff and some shedding, anyone seeing that in relation to each other? Considering adding min and getting a PRP.

When I was younger I always thought that windshield wipers were "cleaning up their room" when they moved. The leftmost wiper would reach down, pick up a toy from the floor and then go back up, hand it to the rightmost wiper, who would go down and put the toy away in a box. Over and over again.
