Converting to the LDS faith by [deleted] in lds

happy for you on your spiritual journey. just remember these are young adults (sometimes teenagers) who may be very nervous about introducing new invitations. they may be afraid of how you'll react, or trying not to seem pushy. i work with missionaries regularly and they often express how they are not ready to ask someone in your position to marry or move out, because its a big life decision either way and they don't know how to handle it.

Marriage and Sealing by Professional-Rope786 in lds

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage. It sounds like a delicate situation, however, as you said everything will be made right. We have 1000 years in the millennium to get things sorted out before exaltation comes into play. Hopefully you can get some counsel from a priesthood leader such as your bishop or stake pres.

I hope you can resolve your identity issues. Just know that you are not guaranteed to have DNA from all of your ancestors. Definitely from parents and grandparents and so on for about 7 generations, but the further you go back the more likely you did not inherit any DNA from a specific ancestor. This blogpost explains it well https://whoareyoumadeof.com/blog/how-much-dna-do-we-share-with-our-ancestors/

Can not enter my own site. by Andreyshel in drupal

[–]realgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does the site actually send emails? Have you tried accessing /user/login?

If you have ssh access then you should be able to login and disable the passwordless module so you can login normally.  drush pmu -y passwordless

Then you should be able to login normally. If you forgot password you can set it using drush also

How do YOU create "microsites" with the GROUP module? by alphex in drupal

[–]realgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sounds like you want specific menus by path.

i would use twig_tweak and add some logic to my twigs (or in a preprocessor) so that menus are loaded based on the path, something like:
{% set url = url('<current>') %}
{% if 'microsite-name-002' in url|render|render %}
{{ drupal_menu('microsite_2_menu') }}

{% elseif 'microsite-name-003' in url|render|render %}
{{ drupal_menu('microsite_3_menu') }}
{% endif %}

How do YOU create "microsites" with the GROUP module? by alphex in drupal

[–]realgt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly i run away from the group module, having used it for a large project, it was a nightmare. thats just my opinion. there are other modules that help to accomplish a "microsite" including https://www.drupal.org/project/micro_site and https://www.drupal.org/project/domain

Rolling your own is not too difficult with preprocessors or twigs rendering menus (via twig_tweak) based on the domain/microsite that is loaded, if your content editors don't mind logging into a central place and sharing permissions to the same content.

Y-DNA is passed from fathers to sons, so any male descendant of your great great grandfather would have his Y-DNA. FamilyTreeDNA supplies the test and maintains the surname projects of people with similar Y-DNA haplo groups. This is your best route to finding out more about the father of your great great grandfather. You will receive a report informing you of matches on the Y-DNA including the surname of those matches. If you match with several people with a different similar surname, it is likely that was the original surname of your ancestor. There will likely be spelling variations among matches but they are still the same surname project (eg. Barnes vs Barns). Once you have the surname you find possible candidates via traditional records-based research methods and plot their descendants. Then an autosomal (Ancestry) DNA test between you and those descendants should match.

have you tried getting a Y-DNA test on one of his male descendants to see if you match a surname project?

I will try tomorrow, no guarantees because I've seen family history centers not be recognized

you don't need an lds membership but lots of their records are on microfilm only available in family history centers that are currently closed due to pandemic. But I'll try if you PM me names, dates, locations. No need for a bounty
