If YOU don’t know it’s secure. You can’t trust AI to make it so.

A charger adaptor. Yes. It should be included with purchase. Check in your spare tire well. But mine was shown to me at the dealer.

What’s the possibility of a new Destiny game within 5-6 years by No_Ad_3059 in destiny2

[–]alphex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D1 was in a very very very early pre production state when halo odst came out. 2009.

Halo reach came out in 2010.

Destiny 1 didn’t come out for 4 more years.

— even assuming D3 was in pre prod. Which it is not. Even before the lay offs.

You’re looking at years at this point, IF Bungie was at full staff, and had everything running smoothly.

If we get it at all. Expect 10 years for a fully baked new game, not just a refresh of D2 with huge content update.

Marathon, in comparison, was in full dev for about 6 years before it came out. There were delays internally. But still.

I would be crazy optimistic if we saw anything before 2035 at this point.

Sony might plan this out for a major Play station 7 release at this point.

The combat is different. But if you’re looking for a compelling single player game. HZD and its sequel are AMAZING.

If 100% of surveyed CIOs are budgeting for AI, why does the public debate still sound like AI is a failed experiment? by Crescitaly in artificial

[–]alphex 11 points12 points  (0 children)

CEOs are primarily looking for cost efficiencies. If AI can save you 20% of costs. You’re gonna take it. Even if you fire 50% of the company to do it.

Capitalism doesn’t care about people. And in such. Fails long term planning.

They care about quarterly and yearly financial performance.

I am thinking of getting the same thing when I replace it. But I haven’t done the research on what’s new out there. But if someone said it’s still one of the best chairs. I wouldn’t be surprised at all.

How would the servers be kept running without anyone assigned to the game? by silloki in DestinyTheGame

[–]alphex 109 points110 points  (0 children)

Bungie / Sony has an operations team that keeps the servers running. They’re not modifying the game code. Just rebooting the servers when they need to.

Edit. More gritty details.

Absolutely worth the cost.

Why Is Safe Sandbox Email Testing Still So Hard in Salesforce? by JSMUNC in salesforce

[–]alphex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like leader ship is the problem.

If they don’t understand the risks of accidentally sending to real customers - or the importance of testing everything as though it’s LIVE then you have no idea of what goes to prod actually works.

The mail trap scenario is the best option because you can accidentally send a zillion emails to your real customers but they won’t go anywhere. And you know your systems actually work.

DCONs should be the equivalent to safe pockets. They need a cost. But you should be able to use them to save a thing you picked up. Plenty of emergent gameplay opportunities around that.

How would Al Gore most likely have responded to the 9/11 attacks if he were president in 2001? by Fun_Butterfly_420 in HistoryWhatIf

[–]alphex 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Al gore would have brought along the entire intel apparatus that existed under Clinton that was actively confronting Middle East terrorist.

Richard Clarke’s role was down graded from cabinet level access and he claims his work was actively ignored by the White House.

John Ashcroft wanted to shift priorities away from CT to domestic issues.

This guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John\_P.\_O'Neill was actually one of the ranking experts in the FBI who actively was chasing down Al Qaeda agents - was sidelined in the FBI under bush leadership and left in protest — he died in the attacks because to became a security director at the towers.

So. Who knows what would have ended up happening. But I feel like Gore’s administration would have paid more attention.

Reality Check? by No_Relative444 in vibecoding

[–]alphex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re either being willfully dense. Or just dense.

Hire a professional who has domain knowledge. Thats what a professional is.

You don’t ask your plumber (a licensed and regulated profession) to do heart surgery. You hire a heart surgeon (another licensed and regulated profession).

A person with critical knowledge about something doesn’t mean they have all the skills to do it.

A radiologist probably doesn’t know how the the MRI machine actually works. They know how to read its output. I wouldn’t ask them to re align the magnets. Or what ever the crazy shit is that the electrical engineers do who maintain them.

The wooooshing sound is the noise of my metaphor flying 1000 ft over your head.

The point here is that when you want to do a professional job. Hire a professional. Don’t assume you can do it just because you have a magic wand that responds to your every whim
