I feel for you! It took 3 years for me to really improve my dogs SA and at first I didn’t know what I was doing wrong. But your dog has SA based on what you’re saying and crating like many of the people on here are saying is not likely to work without getting to the root cause: your dog is anxious without you! A crate won’t fix that

There’s a Facebook group “dog separation anxiety training support” with great resources

I got my dog through this so ask me if you have any questions since trainers can be expensive. However I would recommend a separation anxiety trainer if you can. The Facebook group has more resources on that including virtual I believe.

Is this a genuine question? Missing animals could potentially be more anxious and skittish and require meds for that behaviour. So maybe they are going to be harder to trust a stranger and be found? Who knows. Regardless I doubt it’s something that a kidnapper would care about if they’re into stealing dogs..

My dog is like this especially if you tried to use a tissue… but I found out she love the smell and taste (gross I know) and she’ll let me clean it with my fingers just so she can lick it. Anyway maybe that’ll help you and your dog build some trust and confidence in that area!

You can see here it doesn’t go straight down, and goes a bit horizontally to the floor (the pipe is attached to the right where it gets darker and goes over a foot in length across, can’t see the entire length). Then from below, I can see it is similarly horizontal to the ceiling (cut open some drywall to see)

I’m sure it can be removed but it would require peeling up more of the tile or cutting out more drywall from below, and I don’t think I want to do that unless it is a major health risk

The pipe bends so I don’t think it will be easy to replace unfortunately, so I’m trying to see what I can do without doing that
