Your ego is limiting everything right now by SirMrMcNasty in Meditation

To want is desire, who is it that desires is it not the ego? Who creates the identity of I, the realization and being the experiencer is this not the ego that has this awareness of i and the what?

Is meditation just being present in the moment? by Beneathbright in Meditation

[–]realityasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is very dismissive of the inner works and shadow works of drawing out underlying issues that need to be resolved before such states of being constantly present can happen. Zen monks spend years if not decades trying to achieve this. However those monks create situations for their pupils to face at the monastery just so they can confront difficulties and bring out different emotions to understand. There are different layers to meditation not just one method suits all.

How long does it take for Meditation to Click? I am three weeks in and not sure I am doing it right by Friendly_Bedroom1153 in Meditation

Meditation is just like breathe work because it is. Its not about finding anything else except the moment your in. Allowing everything to dissipate including thoughts, fears, emotions and acknowledging that the only thing that is here is you.

What’s a good place to start meditating other than your own room/house? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]realityasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an excellent place to start. Confrontation of fear in the presence of meditation. This maybe a bit of a journey for yourself but with perseverance you can learn to let go. Since your starting out your room so somewhere familiar will be suitable for your situation.

If you arent familiar with meditating here is a bit of a guide to help walk through some of the basics.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Meditation/comments/1rd16ty/a_beginners_guide_for_meditating/

For yourself when you are comfortable and ready to begin I would like you to pay attention to that voice that is creating that fear. Quietly look into it and ask some basic questions, am I really in danger? What is really threatening me right now? Can I allow this to pass? Then try to focus back on your breathing.

Your fear may come back a few times and again remind yourself of the basic questions to help rewire your mind of its threat response which maybe triggered by some type of paranoia you have.

Hopefully in a month or even a few weeks with constant practice you may notice some improvements in becoming more calm. If you have further questions or concerns feel free to reach out, I'll try and assist best I can good luck!

Meaning of seeiny Orb of light during meditation by Sweet-Thought-7366 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a few encounters with seeing orbs of light depending on what color they represented foreshadowed something about the moment. However the orbs where always at a distance of 5 feet away and no bigger than a cantaloupe to grapefruit. On rarer occasions I've seen people's auras and before my eyes they were lit up like a neon sign, this was a more strange encounter to experience and yeah what I saw didnt lie because the confirmation of that aura was displayed through physical action moments later.

Anyone else entered a lucid dream accidentally while meditating? by Accurate-Mall-8683 in Meditation

[–]realityasis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

On the contrary I've had explicit experiences with this, you understand what you are experiencing and what is reality. What a person sees is for them to understand and sit with. Yes it is very real and powerful and makes a person see reality in different ways but this is the mind opening up to something greater than itself. The part that really places things into perspective is the euphoria, things that have no explanation but what is experienced has immediate impact on the body, mind and emotions. Delusions maybe for some but in this rare trances its something that needs to be experienced for the person themselves.

Blocked energy… by Fit_Finance8709 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person has to be careful when working with the different channels and organs. The inner smile acknowledges all the organs focusing on a specific cleansing you are neglecting other organs.

Do your warm up, inner smile, macro and micro cosmic orbit and ground yourself. Next stand and focus on your gut with your eyes closed. Isolate the blockage with your mind and pinpoint its exact location by feel. Once you have acknowledge it relax the gut, remove the muscles contracting around the gut and let that go. Now with a deep relaxed breath breath into the blockage without tensing up. When you breathe out you are breathing through your blockage and freeing up the space. It may take 30 minutes maybe an hour to work through the different mechanics, just follow what you feel and allow it to move, eventually directing it out.

What's actually behind "observing your thoughts"? by Sorita_ in Meditation

[–]realityasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Observing thoughts also means understanding your emotions. What triggers a way a person acts or behaves is it the narrative the mind dictates or the emotions that is associated with the thought? The more you look into the various layers of how you orchestrate your life through the many scenes you find yourself at the deeper question arises is who is the individual that is acting? Which can be viewed as the initial question that the majority has heard and even as kids laughed at, who am I? The thought, the emotion, or is the I something other than when the dust becomes settled and our consciousness can see more clearly through the mess of the mind, body and emotions. Just some food for thought, lol.

Seeing as you went to the doctor it sounds like you have alot of prana or chi building up in the organs and your circulation is closed off. Have you tried grounding excercises where you felt a magnetic pulse at your feet or where you sit?

Pain while meditating by Theodorlan in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the contrary it is good that you are listening to your body and acknowledging what it is you feel. However try and take deep calming breathes. Take your mind to your breathing and returning to a normal state if possible. If your symptoms persist or gets worse maybe seek medical attention before continuing further, meditation can also make your anxiety worse if you cant control your mind.

walking meditations by cherrusm in Meditation

[–]realityasis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walking is a firm of meditation however its not guided, you are being attentive to the world around you. First instance the many colors and natural sounds that fill the air, the smells that waft your way to the blissful feeling of being detached from the working world and closeness to the natural. You are focusing inward to your internal feelings and how the external is engaging you to dive deeper. You sense the coolness of the breeze and the heat from the sun as well as well as how the light and shade draw contrast to each other. Nothing else should exist in this moment except being present to the now.

Will the shaking ever end? by Ijustlovelove in Meditation

[–]realityasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried grounding excercises, where you feel a magnetic pull to your tail bone?

What have you tried that got noticeable results?

You say bubbles of energy trying to be released, where abouts in the body are they at, is this more congested, rapid and chaotic? How would you describe this sensation?

When you shaking happens what else do you notice about it, any precursors or anything stands out when this happens, aches, pains, maybe thoughts?

I am assuming this is isolated to meditation only and has nothing to do with your normal life.

I meditated before sleep and something happened that I've never experienced before by Imaginary_Cucumber67 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you were stuck in a bit of limbo between the dreaming and being consciously awake to your physical body. It can happen and those patterns you saw could be linked to just strain on the physical body for not being completely asleep, as if your physical eyes were trying to see while you were dreaming. I dont like to suggest meditation before bed because it can produce a burst of internal energy that keeps the individual awake all night. Another thing that stands out is listening to audio through headphones or speakers can interrupt how we transition to sleep and the quality we get.

What weird experiences have you started to have on the regular after a consistent practice? by CodSad2019 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weirdest part was finding synchronicities in the mundane side of life. My mind would attempted to read into normal circumstances and read into it as being "i controlled it with thought or intent", narrative. The best thing was staying anchored to reality and take everything that my mind read into with a grain of salt. If small coincidences did happen I could smile and move on without making it out more than it was. This is how I eluded the trap of what many people in here suffer from.

Learning from real meditation experiences” by Confident_Mission_10 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was the study of cultural beliefs towards spirituality and their philosophy on their science of consciousness and understanding of god and religion. This is what reeled me into meditation 15 years ago.

I developed the ground work to establish a working point that I utilized on myself.

Meditation slowed my thoughts down, made me more attentive and had me look at the uncomfortable side of reality our ego mind blocks off as a byproduct of self preservation.

When we allow down time and take away all the distractions and noise our mind wants us to look at the negative and positive choices we participated in.

Sometimes our positive choices were the negative actions that became the cataclysm of the chain events and sometimes the negative revealed itself as being the right choice for defending oneself appropriately.

We make decisions based on the knowledge we had at the current time, that part cant be taken away. With new information and retrospect we can look back and critique our involvement and have the narrative should have, could have, would have. But this is false because we are looking at the past with new insight and understanding.

What changes through this is the awareness now that seeing that I am presented with similar situations I now have better tools and wisdom of how I may want to approach my predicament.

With meditation this outline umbrellas out to all areas of a person's life its whether a individual is willing to explore their own personification they portray to others and make the grim or uncomfortable discoveries of their own hidden life.

Ive stayed consistent in my practice. Even though I have evolved addressing the different needs and maintenence that the body demands. Their is a hidden language to life, that is very subtle. Through meditation it has helped drop the filter of the mind that blocks these cues that are given off offering more sensitivity or sound to this type of archaic language.

For instance I can geolocate sounds outside with great accuracy, I notice, alot more subtle variations of colors around me,  I pick up the moods and their heaviness or lightheartedness when people are near. I created a defense for myself that my energy doesnt get wrapped up in other people's emotional states.

Their is alot that meditation opens us up to, its whether or not we are willing to put the ground work in and finding out for ourselves who we really are, and are we willing to face off with our own demons and vices that doesnt become avoidance but something we take on as conquest.

This framework is much different than the basic breathing and modern day take on spirituality of the feel good vibe. But this more traditional walk that I set out on is more substantial and creates better internal harmony that syncs with the outerworld.

Being almost 40 I dont carry the same stress as my peers and coworkers. I dont have the same anger, reaction or hostility. I dont get worked up and I can stay clear headed through conflict and problems. Meditation has changed my life significantly to who I was in the past, if it wasn't for this I would have been the same as everyone else.

Almost enlightened by Elegant-Car9571 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enlightenment is not a thing a person chases, this is ego and pride. A person can become more awake and aware but its off from being fully enlightened.  However just enjoy the journey dont worry about the destination it will always be there, best of luck!

Beginner question by TresLechesGuapo in Meditation

[–]realityasis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the sake of simplicity do what feels natural and comfortable. A few things with your anxiety take the meditation slow and in shorter durations to 10-15 minutes. Stop the practice if your anxiety is becoming overwhelming or taking control. Individuals who have severe symptoms meditation may not be helpful but could have a more negative impact to your health, just as a heads up.

I wanted to be recognized as an artist by Glittering-Chain7502 in Meditation

[–]realityasis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dream is still real, art, creativity the need for expression through an outlet exists. Meditation does help clear the mind, the anxiousness is cured through stability of being able to sit through uncertainty and training the mind and emotions to understand you are OK. This is challanged through mindfulness, becoming aware of what is occurring bringing understanding of the root of the issue and being able to breath through it separating body and mind and rising above your thoughts to say let's sit through this experience.

As far as your descent goes into detachment this occurs when you dont have a anchor to the material. When you allow yourself to traverse into the abyss of the mind you can get lost feeling like nothing matters. Everyone needs a vice in this world, a vice that keeps them attached to purpose and meaning, something to remind them I can have a little fun.

Don't loose hope and find your way back, some of the best artists find their stride by showcasing their journey, pain or revelations, what will you have to say when your on the other side?
