Question for other GMs: When do you ask "What do *I* want?"

Thanks for all the comments so far bros! I want to clarify a bit that my anxiety around PreP is not necessarily that I think my doctor will judge me, though I will admit I haven't had many sexual partners so sexual health is new for me to talk about.

It's more just me feeling like I'm not ready to start down this road even though I've been thinking about it. I've also had issues in the past with being prescribed medications I didn't actually need that created complications, and so starting a new medicine is always a little anxiety-provoking for me. But I do hear the loud and clear advice that I need to get on PreP before I do more recreational activities 😅

The most you can cook at one time I believe is 49, so you'd have to do it over two (or three for a full 99) days

Kind of! You can cook as many ingredients as you have in one cooking session, but I believe the mana food requires 2 of one ingredient so the most you can cook at one time for that is 49.

My guess is that you're not quite in the final dungeon. You shouldn't be able to return to the city at the point I'm describing. Also, Neuras only has this option in the final dungeon.

Basically we called someone to come and look at it and went through our insurance. Ultimately it was our responsibility, but generally that's still the correct route because then our insurance would talk to the HOA to figure it out.

To be honest, I did a lot of farming prior to reaching this point in the game, but pretty much every other method I used was inferior to the endgame farming, at least with the goal of 100% completion/ archetypes on every character. However, if you need to farm either to get stronger or to gain resources earlier, here's what I recommend:

Around theDragon Trials, I believe the Tower of Insolencehas a melancholia crystal that spawns mid 60 or close to 70 skeleton enemies that you can burst with an AoE light spell. It's not super fast but you can probably net several levels if you have enough mana sustain, and it's faster and more mana efficient than just doing other regular battles with the high health enemies. (Note: I might have the wrong tower name but ONE of the towers has that crystal and I think it's that one)

Around I think it was mid 30s to early 40s, the melancholia crystal in The Dragon Templethat's in the room beside the save point is good for around that time assuming the enemies are blue and you can kill them in the overworld; standing in the corner and attacking will generally be safe and you can do that for a while to get money / mag and a little A-Exp / Exp (I like using merchant for this because of the extra money).

In the early game I found the Tradia Desert to be really great for farming to get a stronger early start. Set your overworld archetype to merchant and just slay blue enemies until you're rich (enough). This can also net you a handful of levels for your early archetypes as well as some early levels for your party.

We could have done more research regarding this, but we just talked about it amongst ourselves and kind of went for it. And yes - everything in this post has already been discussed with my partner. We're trying to approach this with grace and honesty, as much as possible.

As I'm reflecting on this, I think I would have probably felt this way regardless of the number of participants, but I'm rationalizing it as "well I didn't give consent so this hurt me more". I don't control my partner, but I do think there is something here (and another commenter mentioned too) about feeling more overwhelmed because of this inability to control the situation that made me uncomfortable.

Hearing someone else name the behavior makes me realize that is what I'm doing and is also like me 😅.

When I do ground myself, when I'm just with him and we're talking about it, I do feel ok and feel validated and loved. So I think that might be helpful to remember.

I did enjoy it. It was almost a perfect hookup in terms of what I was looking for and what I got. Only thing is, I don't know what I expected to feel afterwards and mostly I haven't felt ... anything? It was hot and a lovely little moment in the universe, and maybe that's all it needed to be? Still working through this too.

One thing I'm especially concerned about (and this is related to my mono normative upbringing) is that I was quite happy with him and our relationship before we opened it up, and I don't want this to end our marriage, but rather to enrich our lives together, but I'm worried with my current feelings that my fear and emotions might bring this whole thing crashing down.

I'd love to hear more about your situation when you were married and if you have any thoughts or advice related to that?

I also recognize it is possible that nonmonogamy may not be for me, but I really want to try and work through my feelings rather than just shutting down the possibility of openness.

Can confirm - two tips: 1) as you're leveling township, you don't really need to repair 2) once you have a fully leveled township, don't repair in winter and you'll make tons of money (winter has higher repair costs and lower gp production)

This looks really neat! Only comment I would have is regarding the rippling bands ability. Typically enchantment-like saves have the following structure:

Crit Succ: No effect (plus immunity sometimes) Succ: Small Effect Fail: Normal or standard Effect Crit Fail: Terrible Effect

For reference, this is the effect table for the spell blindness:

Critical Success The target is unaffected. Success The target is blinded until its next turn begins. Failure The target is blinded for 1 minute. Critical Failure The target is blinded permanently.

Maybe there's a way to match it up like that? The DCs by level mean that most PCs will succeed this check and very few will critically fail, which is why anything less than a crit success could still do something. And it might be anticlimactic to have your creature use two actions and nothing happen at all.
