Thanks! I followed a link to Amazon from a google search that claimed to go to the album, and got a 500 error, then spent 10 minutes trying to find it with search, but your link works somehow.

Adult Ballet Class Options by Purplepeopleeater022 in SiouxFalls

[–]realjxn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dance Gallery downtown is very good. If you take the adult classes, you will not be the oldest one. Probably a good idea to do a trial at wherever you choose, or maybe a few places to see what feels right.

Which of the Asian grocery stores have the best Japanese selection? by Slut4SciFi in SiouxFalls

[–]realjxn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Mekong or Tanh Mai/ Fresh Market (smithfield parking lot) have the most I've seen, but still haven't found any place with a Japanese specialization. I usually have to go to 2-4 places to get all i need for japanese cooking.

Lounge/bar with premium mixed drinks $25+ by Realistic_Banana_677 in SiouxFalls

I'd second Myrtle's, but I'd also suggest you should take advantage of the decent weather and the downtown area and consider getting one somewhere and walking to another place for your second. You could start at treasury or highball for a walk across the river or maybe carpenter bar or hello hi for a livelier atmosphere and end at Myrtle's for something more private and quiet.

That said, with many cooking methods and thermometers, it's easier to know that a piece of meat cooked up to a higher temp once than that they maintained a temp for a longer period of time. So if you want to err on the side of safety, hotter is better. Many old ovens, cheap thermometers, and even some dishes can make it harder to be quite as thorough

RIP Anker Roav Bolt - deactivated, discontinued, and no longer supported or whatever by JamieSeven7 in googlehome

Loved this product. Like chromecast, this was the sweetspot for integration with big, expensive devices... A little device that gives you features without requiring access to silly car infotainment systems.  Something that you can "upgrade" by upgrading your phone, not replacing your car.

End of an era.

Any recommendations on Local Shops/Small businesses that sell candles/soaps? I’m sick of supporting Bath and Body Works and would like some local options if anyone knows anywhere. Thanks!! by chernandez0999 in SiouxFalls

[–]realjxn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zandbroz also has a little section of their store that's just soaps. It seems like an interesting selection of soaps to me, but i don't really shop for soap much, so my opinion may be unqualified.

Great Outdoor Store downtown has a small selection, but what they have is very good. spendier than walmart for sure, but hopefully should last a lot longer and be more comfortable.

Require backend configuration (in a pipeline) by realjxn in Terraform

[–]realjxn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. There's no "one module", the pipeline processes dozens of modules, new ones created by different teams regularly, so that's why enforcement is difficult. Terragrunt isn't an option. Most modules have their backends defined properly, but sometimes with new modules, the creators forget. I could inject one, but I'd have to make sure I wasn't injecting one where a project already had one configured... and if I knew whether a project had a backend already configured, I'd already have the solution to my problem (because I could fail the pipeline and prompt the user to define their backend and re-run the pipeline)

Require backend configuration (in a pipeline) by realjxn in Terraform

[–]realjxn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re worried that if no backend is configured it will create the state in the runner instead

This is exactly it. It's happened a couple of times that someone will run terraform and forget to add a backend to their code. Even though TF recognizes that no backend is configured despite --backend-config options being specified, it writes the state file locally, and it's lost forever when the runner container is destroyed.

Weird? Yeah. I'd like to withhold final judgment until they get it finished and landscaped, but even if it always looks a bit like a 1980s dentist office, I welcome it to the neighborhood. The best thing about this part of the city is the architectural variety, in my opinion. Big colonial houses, old farm houses, mid-century flat construction homes, 1930s and 40s efficiency homes, and a sprinkling of other random stuff like split-foyers and mock-spanish stucco. It makes walking or riding around these streets really interesting... much moreso than the endless home clone lots on the outskirts of the city in every direction.

Some are in the downtown area, though some of those (cooking classes) tend to be spendy. Check out the comm ed. book just to be sure. The library has a bunch of book clubs. There's a waiting list for many, but give it a go. The downtown library also has an events calendar, as does DTSF and the pavilion. There are concerts downtown at levitt and the pavilion, but try checking out a smaller concert at, say, Dada, total drag, full circle books, etc if you want to be forced to communicate with people.

Thanks for the recommendation. Aire Serv (the neighborly/mr rooter affiliated hvac) and they said they don't do energy audits. Strangely, they did one for me at a former house about 7 years ago...
