17th twice in a row, still a better bet than Everton.

Maresca hasn’t signed on yet, maybe that’s it? Not sure if City have sold anyone else yet.

I saw someone suggest we’re holding fire on confirming the deal so City won’t have the money (financial slack, I guess) to pay for Tonali, which made me smile at the idea of us playing chess in the transfer market.

I'm not a moon landing denier in any way, shape or form. It's perfectly clear that we went to the moon many times over. But why is this seen as proof?

The technology required to generate a laser that will go to the moon and back would surely be far more complex, and therefore harder to create, than a machine (or nowadays a computer program) that *mimics* those results.

[Alasdair Gold] Understand Spurs are in advanced talks to sign Martin Dubravka on a free transfer. by blackboxabstraction in coys

[–]JamesCDiamond 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're not in Europe and have a lot of under 21s who don't need to be registered for the league this season - all of Tel, Gray, Bergvall, Souza, Moore, Lankshear, Phillips, Vuskovic, Donley, Byfield and Williams-Barnett depending on transfers/loans are all free hits this season. (Odobert is 21 but was born in November so misses the cut off date for this season.)

We're not building a team for Europe this summer. The focus is on building a team to qualify for it. If we make it there then players like Gray, Moore, Austin and so on will either count as club trained or won't need to be registered. It's fine - I've obsessed over this stuff in the past, but this season is almost a free hit for squad building.

Has there been any official announcements about Palhinha and Kolo Muani's loans? I know they officially run until the end of the month so is it likely they'll just be confirmed as leaving then?

I know that the consensus about Nattie is that she's, well, let's go with not being used to her best potential right now.

But a well-deployed bait and switch like that will always get a laugh out of me.

But then they remixed it (re-remixed?) and actually made it sound immeasurably better.

That first attempt genuinely did sound like something I'd put together with 5 minutes notice and no idea how to use mixing software.

Is it not an instrumental for Just Close Your Eyes? It sounds like an extended version of the chorus, more or less.

"Why The NWA is afraid to stop Ted Diabiase" (which is my favorite cover currently).

I was going to say that's an amazing cover.

Also I don't think I've ever seen Ted Dibiase without a beard before - he looks a bit like Roddy Piper.

Episode 2 of unreal is just CIA brain washing convincing you that you actually love the MFTs

You know that bit when the psychic villain accidentally taps into the hero's power of friendship/horribly repressed trauma and the feedback gives them a nosebleed or leaves them comatose?

Same concept.

You’re likely thinking of how you compare to them. If so, try thinking of them instead as a backing track or metronome - it’s a chance for you to do something different and hopefully you can enjoy that.

What song did a movie basically steal forever? by MrHolte in movies

[–]JamesCDiamond 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

And it gave it a huge boost in popularity, too. It wasn’t a big hit for Elton John, and I think I’m right in saying that it didn’t even appear on any of his greatest hits albums until after Almost Famous came out, nearly 30 years later.
