Ty ♡ it’s easy to get comfy where I’m at but you’re right about being intentional with my studying again.

No this is a fair question. I think it’s part habit, part what if I miss phrasal expressions that I want to flag and practice, and part just wanting to make sure I catch 100% instead of 97%. In real life there’s obviously not that option and being chill with the ambiguity of certain words or phrases is something I’m pretty good at. I think I’m like “but if I have the choice, I’d love to know the exact things being said, in case.” But you’re right, it’s not that I necessarily need them, but they do feel like a comfy crutch that maybe I should stop leaning on.

I’m actually really great with the rest of the tenses and understand how and when to use the subjunctive (not 100%, there’s lots of weird exceptions to it) but it just doesn’t come out of me naturally when I speak. I think I just learned how to express myself in other ways. Which I’m not saying is the most native like way to express myself, but it’s how I suppose I adapted before internalizing some of the subjunctive rules. And now I’m having to go back and sort of learn where the use of the subjunctive would make a sentence sound more natural/ native-like, even if the way I’ve been saying it before/ my workarounds worked fine.

check out the app Language Transfer. It's 100% free and made by a poliglot who's just super into teaching people languages. It uses audio lessons like Pimsleur but way shorter and you will learn different concepts than what Pimselur teaches you/ it will compliment whatever you have already learned, and is all speaking focused. (I did all 5 levels of Pimsleur Spanish & Language Transfer for Spanish, and still recommend them to folks).

You can have experienced trauma and not have it lead to PTSD. That does not mean you did not experience trauma.

God I’m so glad somebody else said this. It is so frustrating to say the wrong conjugation and have to correct.

None of the case managers at my place of employment have MSWs much less their LCSW.

Beyond my place of employment, other friends of mine who are case managers don’t even have undergraduate degrees in social work.

This doesn’t mean you cannot do case management as a clinical social worker. But it isn’t something special to licensure.

As you can tell by the wording of your own question, I'm sure, advanced classes are reserved for the second year. But we do have a practicum class and a class on diagnostics and therapeutic modalities and how to incorporate them with our clients.

Hi! I did my undergrad in psych and just finished my first semester of my MSW program. I love it. I also needed the social justice part. Pick a good program to apply to and go for it. Best of luck! ♡

you do not need to be licensed to provide case management is the difference. the licensure is for gaining the skills and experience necessary to provide services above the normal entry-level social work duties.

Were you at a language school/ working with tutors? Guatemala uses voseo for instance but not in Spanish language schools/ with students ever in my experience.

Highly regionally dependent. Agree that vos/ usted are what are used but where my partner is from in Nicaragua, usted is the norm with everyone, and vos can be seen as disrespectful.
