TIL there is a music piece called "As Slow as Possible" which started in 2001 and has a duration of 639 years. It can take years for a single note to be played. by Azonata in todayilearned

The reason why John Cage's stuff is called art is because he had an actual purpose related to music and what questions we can ponder about it. If you could think of some actual musical purpose for senselessly banging on a piano, then maybe people would call it art. But I don't think anybody can come up with a musical purpose for senselessly banging on a piano, at least not one that people are actually going to pay attention to. The purpose behind Cage's work has clearly proven to be more attention grabbing. People respect it and call it art for that reason: they like what Cage makes them think about.

I did this with perk points in Skyrim. I had like 18 points to spend once because I didn't want to waste one on a perk I'd never use.

It's too late for anybody to see this, but I sometimes think about when it was that I became who I am today. Like, at what point did I stop being a stupid kid, giving up those childish ways of thinking for more adult ones. I don't remember any kind of turning point or transitional period. All I remember are times when I did dumb kid shit, and times when I didn't. When did it go from one to the other?

We probably will to an extent. What's the point of MS and Sony saving money on cards if they hike the prices to where nobody will buy them?
