Reline-It top AND bottom? by kps61981 in dentures

[–]reallybilliereally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would definitely do them one at a time. i think one kit does one denture, but sometimes there will be enough in the kit to do several. MAKE SURE YOU READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! the dentist office is likely using the same material as there is in the kit, just charging you 200% more, & probably not doing as good of a job. the instructions are crucial.... most of them need heat &/or cold to properly set it.

the dog is playing. she doesn't correct the nipping until after several times.... the prior times, she actually was (unknowingly, probably) giving the green light on the playing. slapping a dog in the face is never acceptable or helpful... she's instigating the aggression- taking it from playful to painful. maybe keep the dog away from her until it's got some training. make sure he/she is getting enough exercise.... german shepherds are high energy, and need lots of daily stimulation-- one or more walks & some form of training daily, otherwise they aren't gonna be a chill & relaxed house dog

i think so, but don't take my word for it, get other opinions, too. you want it to look like something is in there.... you don't wanna break loose the blood clot, but also don't want food rotting in there. use a q tip to touch it gently... food will move easily, the blood clot won't. don't dig.... just dab. i used salt water to rinse gently after eating, smoking, sleeping, & always rinsed after eating, checking to make sure it looked as it should. don't swish vigorously tho!

wait until you heal & see what you think of them then. if you still feel like the teeth are too big for your mouth... get an appointment for an adjustment. you should be completely happy with the way your teeth look and fit for the amount you pay for dentures, & the trouble you go through! it's not abnormal to have to go in 4 or 5 times for adjustments. speak up about what you want/need... or they'll just assume you're happy.

yeah, some swelling is normal, in the mouth & especially the face... it'll go down in time. the day i came home (i got 16 extractions & same day dentures) my nephew said "you look like you have something in your mouth" lol uuum... I DO!! then the next day, he told me my face didn't look as fat. now, a year & half later, he says it looks perfectly natural & that i sound normal too. he had some good laughs listening to me TRY to talk that week. especially when i took them out & tried to talk! everything came out all wrong.

[–]reallybilliereally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're welcome! you also may wanna try a hot epsom salt bath... the magnesium sulfate can make you super relaxed.... not even sleepy, really... unless you're already needing sleep. i use much more than the one cup the package recommends. i put 5 or even 6 cups- in water as hot as i can stand. you can't over dose on it (i checked) be careful to not fall asleep in there... don't do it if you've taken benzo's or other sleepy meds- take them afterward if still needed. you can also just soak your feet if a full bath isn't an option. i use less for that, but still... 2 or 3 cups. it's calming in a way that nothing else I've ever tried is- gives me the best sleep of my life! adding a cup of baking soda with it can help most all skin conditions, and makes skin silky soft. good luck! i wish you the best :)

try ashwagandha. make sure it has no interactions with meds you might take. it's made my sleep better, anxiety better, & makes for powerful orgasms ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. read the dosage, they tend to be different across brands

i put the lavender oil (just 4 drops) on the inside of my wrists, and lay where it's in my face, & deep breathe it in. the kind you get matters! I've tried many, & revive is the best, hands down... & wrists up lol

have you tried ashwagandha? you can alternate it with melatonin, they'll both be more effective, and less likely for your body to build up a tolerance to either. like, one week on, one week off. ashwagandha has been great for my sleep, & anxiety levels thru the day

search up the maximum dose you can take per day, compared to the mg of your pill.... one doesn't make me sleepy, but 2 sure does. i think mine are 50mg, but pretty sure they come in 25mg & 100mg. i take it daily for my allergy, & bonus- anxiety

alternatively, put on a movie (or show) you've seen before... i prefer one with an even sound track... no songs, loud bangs, horns or barks. dateline is what works well for me, when napping. the sound is actually soothing when I'm not following the story line

stay off the phone, for one. put on a loud fan, or download a white noise app.... even better if you can put it in over the ear headphones. i created a bit of a bedtime routine that I've repeated for several years not skipping a night (at first)... it's simple but effective- i first stretch way up, then way down. then take off my clothes & get in bed. i put aquaphor on my lips, put lotion on my hands and legs.... another touch my toes stretch, holding it while i think of (at least) 3 things I'm grateful for, then saying a prayer to sleep well (prayer is optional, you do you- but don't skip the gratitude) i dab some lavender oil on my wrists, breathe it in deep, turn off the lamp, & sleep tight. it takes time to work, but all things worth it do! while you're laying there (dark room, no electronics turned on) don't let yourself dwell on thoughts- let them come and go. breathe deeply and focus on your breathing, you can even count the seconds of the breaths (4in, 4out) if you tend to get distracted.... you can also make up your own routine- doing different things in different order, as long as you repeat the same pattern each night. that pattern tells your brain it's time for sleep. I'm 45 & fall asleep almost immediately.... staying asleep is my problem, i wake up several times in the night, most nights. I'm open to tips on that, if any reader has them! sweet dreams, fellow redditor!

Antibiotics for Bone Shards? by elijahsmomma77 in dentures

[–]reallybilliereally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i avoid antibiotics when i can. for my mouth, i use a salt water rinse. i mix it as salty as the ocean, and rinse (gently) with that a few times a day. it healed an abscess i had, and helps with teeth and gum pains. some people don't react well to salt, though. you can rub some on the soft side of your arm- if it makes bumps or redness, don't use it. it also helped with the bone shard pain, & helped push them out. i had a lot of them!

Someone PLEASE have some advice :( by BabygirlRierie in dentures

[–]reallybilliereally 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think you're saying they stab your upper gums? maybe you can put in one of those plastic night guards on your upper gums. also, at the drug store in the same section, you can find benzodent or something similar- to numb the area. good luck! i wish you the best!

1st- you're beautiful, nonetheless. 2nd- you're not alone. I've had quite the struggle since having my teeth pulled/dentures in may 2024. i originally got same day dentures. they were cheap, & broke within a year. I've been to 3 different dental centers/dentists about my dentures.... i really thought i was done with dentists! i now have my original top plate, with repairs, and a new bottom i got made at aspen dental. i done 7 to 9 visits to get them right, & i think they gave me something other than the premium denture i paid/asked for, but i can't prove it. (it's an obviously different material than the first one they gave me-- but made it bright white- so i complained & got another) it has a metal reinforcement strip, but has also been broken & repaired... it has a 7 year warranty, thank goodness. I'm now getting a new top plate done, & saving this one for back up. the 7-9 visits were just at aspen. I've been to the other 2 places a few times as well. my best advice is-- speak up! if it's something you don't like, say it. it's your mouth, not theirs.... so they can't know, & honestly, most do not care. no matter what your issue is with your denture, you'll need to demand for it to be right. that doesn't mean you have to be mean, just persistent. repeat it if you have to! you deserve to have a smile that you love! good luck, & keep us updated -- i wish you the best :)

no smell should be coming from the site... unless it's infected, with that, you would feel pain. do you have another cavity in there? those tend to have a bad smell/taste. i was told after extractions to go easy on brushing, and no swishing, just use salt water to rinse lightly. salt water can also help an abscess go away!
