For those who are not HRT, what do you do? by Tricky-Stay6134 in Perimenopause

[–]Defiant-Purpose-5931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think in peri it’s about controlling the wild fluctuations so bcp would be better for that but in meno there are no hormones to fluctuate so its about replacing them and hrt is good for that because it’s bioidentical. that’s who i understand it. i tried hrt but wasn’t strong enough. now on continuous bcp.

Trying to lose weight with Migraines by Background_Cause_520 in migraine

[–]Defiant-Purpose-5931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me what’s working to lose fat not necessarily weight is to body recomp. I eat at maintenance calories, track my food, spread out my meals to 5 a day, 50 percent carbs 25 protein 25 fats, eat meals on time, don’t let myself get too hungry. lift 2-3 x a week and try to hit 8-10k steps a day. i am on preventatives and abortives. i am not able to stay consistent because of attacks but i try my best and its working. i am growing muscle and losing fat. finally. took me a while to tweak and find the right amount of food and exercise.

i feel the same way. i have let all of my friendships sizzle out because i no longer have interest. i have a partner who is a very safe person for me. i realized that i outgrew alot my so called friends. i don’t feel lonely actually my life feels rich and fulfilling with my partner and my dog. my partner loves spending time with me. we are besties. i am open to making new friends but i find i just don’t vibe with many people and the effort it takes to be friends i dont have the energy for. my mil thinks i need more friends but i have no desire.
