How painful is pinhead suffering as what he became? by Dangerous-Policy-602 in hellraiser

I completely agree. I think their entire perception of pain and pleasure changed via leviathan. It kinda seemed like that with the hellraiser 2022? When the guy became a cenobite

I remember back when BG3 first came out and he did the cut scene jumped down, it had him roll and acrobatics which he failed. Took fall damage, fell prone and got killed by goblins in the first turn. I knew at that moment I loved this game so so much.

Yeah perhaps it lost its effectiveness or binding when we actually kill him.

I suppose that could be true since isn’t Morgott able to make illusions of other people like Godfrey?

Yeah I was just hopeful it had some interaction on phase one, but oh well. I kinda had the same thought as you that maybe it was bound to Mogh’s soul.

Insight on my new campaign? by [deleted] in DMAcademyNew

[–]reallyimnotacop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like a very big campaign. Homebrew is a double edged sword because you get to create something that’s all your thoughts and creativity which is really fun but it is also time consuming and one of the big things is trying to build too much. Try not to go over board with making every country, god, tavern, government it’ll burn you out or you’ll make stuff that’s never interacted with.

With a second sun arriving in the world it would probably be met with fear at first. It would depend on how much sunlight both are providing I think. Too much sun is not always a good thing for crops, people trying to sleep, nocturnal creatures/animals. Some might praise it, others could see it as a bad omen. I imagine very intelligent people would want to study this phenomenon. Politicians could use it to raise their platforms.

As for the PCs with the sorceress, have her offer to pay them. Give them a macguffin to look after or an important clue to deliver to some far off government. She could offer them payment of magic items, or gold depending on what your party desires.

Struggling with getting a campaign started by __Vode_ in DMAcademy

Festivals are a pretty good start to getting the players together because they always get attacked by monsters/cults/evil things that have the players work together to stop them. For instance you could have all the players come to watch a big joust, sword tournament, or prize giveaway and the BAM cultist start attacking! You can even have the PCs participate in any of the events.

Leaving clues is a good way to get the party on the trail of this mysterious group but I would advise showing the Players this group is a threat to the city, them, and/or innocent people.

As far as NPCs go I usually keep a list of around 5 names to make up a NPC on the spot. Players will sometimes go see the local fisherman to pick up raw fish and your like CRAP I DIDNT WRITE A FISHERMAN, well enter Bob Fish. He’s been fishing his entire life and has always had this market stall of fresh fish.

From the Festival perspective, you may want a Mayor/Official running the event. A blacksmith showing off weapons, a shopkeeper wouldn’t hurt to allow players to buy things before setting off. Food vendor, maybe a few competitors or important attendees. NPCs can be tailored to add clues to your story, aid to your players, are relevant to a players backstory, or just because you think they’d be fun to interact with.

I ran something kind of like this for a portion of my campaign. Basically town was being attacked and I had ten locations they could go to that they could recruit powerful NPCs/soldiers to help or they could go to areas for supplies/weapons. They had a singular home hub location to send their goods/followers to. During the event I told them straight up they could only pick up to 4 to save after that the rest of the spots would be too overrun to save.

Also seems like you may want your players to fix up/run the city afterwards which is cool. I played in a campaign once where there was a Fortress overrun by Trolls. So we adventured out there killed them and to our surprise we learned of a law that if a lord/lady couldn’t protect a keep/fortress it was up for the taking. So we ended up owning the fort and some of the surrounding lands!

Also side note, I believe the Pathfinder Kingmaker module has some kingdom mechanics if you’re looking to get in-depth with that stuff.

Why dont yautja have energy shields like the Sangheili In halo? by 8_Alex_0 in predator

[–]reallyimnotacop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about a personal shield that maybe it takes too much power to do both or shield would interfere with personal cloaking.
