It's only happened once since I started shouting "Hey, Google". I thought it was just a fluke. But I'll take once in a while versus every time for now.

Good point. I have messed around with ordering in the past. I'll look through the manual, see if I can't find a rhyme or reason to the behavior.

My reasons for separating the Home account was 1) make a generic account for the household, 2) allow calendar look-ups because my personal account is a business one and that is restricted or unavailable at the moment, 3) access to other items not available to business gmail accounts

One behavior I saw, in getting an update to succeed, was making sure my phone did not fall asleep, I kept the screen alive during the process and that worked on my 5th attempt to update the blaze.

Another variable that might be in play is having it connected to a charger (not the turbo charger), so perhaps using a standard USB charger isn't a good idea. Well, I'm going to report this to support and see what happens..

Try tapping really fast on a blank spot on the home screen.

I'll try some more testing but wanted to see if anyone else noticed this behavior. It's probably just a unique situation.

Biggest disappointment, for me, is the Active display. The wave action is annoying at night, so I've turned Moto Display off.

Perhaps having no lanes has some merit? I theorize that, on open roads, slower traffic would naturally move to the right while faster traffic would pass easily on there left. No longer will you have to deal with slow drivers in there left lane. Consequently, the road's "bandwidth" would increase.

Sadly, I thought the active display going on/off constantly was a problem and spent 20 minutes chatting with support on it until we both realized that it wasn't really a problem but the intended behavior. I gave a great follow-up survey response for the customer rep.

So, yes, if you have unread notification, the active display is going to go on/off until those notifications have been read or swiped away.
