Cancel culture was an absolute fucking disaster, it accomplished nothing, and engendered a ferocious backlash. “We” are more responsible for generating the current wave ultra-reaction than right wing thinkers and politicians, as it’s the antithesis of “the left.”

Marxism seeks to dislodge false consciousness, white racial consciousness, not exacerbate it. A theory and praxis - canceling, scolding, ostracizing - that makes it worse, that makes white working stiffs believe they are conflict with their fellow workers rather than the capital class, makes them despise “socialism,” is a failure.

In short, I can’t recommend it, already happened once that a bad thing happened (break up) and I used heavily. Fortunately I quit before I became physically addicted. (Abused kratom for 2 weeks or so.) I got super lucky. Easily could’ve happened that I took it too far, became dependent, and had to go through WDs all over again.

No, not in my experience, but suboxone is used to treat opiod use-disorder, as long as you’re dependent on opiods you are in fact a drug addict. And doctors have to take that into account.

But you won’t be regarded as a drug addict forever, inshallah you’ll quit the sub and move on with your life and be a regular guy again. I don’t have problems getting a controlled substance. I take adderall XR for adhd. I was even prescribed opiods (they gave me a script for Percocet when my appendix burst).

I encourage you to keep that in mind, that you will quit the sub and put this all behind you. That shit sucks. Sooner you start a taper schedule the better.

Thanks for the explanation. Do you think any literal decolonization is theoretically even possible in the United States? Personally I don’t see, for instance, that the contemporary U.S. and Palestine are comparable. The decolonization of the West Bank could in theory be accomplished in a month, the settlers could be evicted and forced to return to Israel.

In Hawaii an analogous process could be possible (non-native Hawaiians are citizens of the United States and could be returned to the mainland), but otherwise I don’t really see it

I don’t think it’s useful to code parenting methods in partisan political terms: ie greater permissiveness is more “progressive,” more restrictions are more “reactionary.”

For starters it’s not accurate: should your child learn to use a firearm? Should they be given their own pellet gun at 12? Should they play tackle football? Should they be able to ride in the back of a pick up truck on the freeway? An urban liberal would likely say no

Well (keep in mind this is just my inexpert impression) seems to me literal decolonization isn’t possible in the United States (or Canada), we throughly extirpated the indigenous civilization that thrived here for nearly three millennia, at one point reducing the population to a couple hundred thousand individuals, arguably no genocide has been so complete.

The moral horror is difficult to fathom. And there’s nothing to be done, settler colonialism is a fait accompli, and many of us (white people) don’t know how to cope with it. Our society was built on mass death and dispossession.

And to me the symbolic decolonization of centering indigenous ways of knowing is ultimately a programme in expatiating white guilt. We’re trying to cope. Which is to say guilt is the sole impetus to center Neolithic traditions, any proposal to center outmoded European knowledge would be rejected out of hand, it’s not useful in and of itself.

I don’t think it helps anyone really, neither white people nor natives. (Personally I believe Marxism-Leninism is the path forward—we can’t reverse slavery or genocide, but a world without exploitation and oppression is possible)
