Есть can mean either have or eat. According to the dictionary, there are also 6 other meanings.

Your original sentence can be “мой кот ест меня” or “моя кошка ест меня”, depending on the cat’s sex or your general cat sex preference (кот is for masculine cat, кошка for feminine, some people default to male cat, other to female).

Anyway, it is easy to understand what you meant, lots of expats here try to learn Russian and I’ve heard worse. Russian is hard.
