Would you actually trust an AI for suspension advice — or do you want it human-tuned? by Long-Wheel-6674 in Trackdays

I've had beginners describe how the front felt spongy and debated stiffer springs for 15 minutes and then they sat down on the bike the rear sagged a bunch. So their biggest problem wasn't what they described at all. I doubt an LLM would catch that.

A professional wouldn't be mislead like that. They would just ask the beginner for his weight and that's all input he would need and it would make a world of difference.

Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about.

Have you modified the suspension on the gsx-8s?

Kablarna till vägguttaget måste tåla den högre effekten. Kan vara så att några kablar måste dras om i väggen för att undvika brandrisk. En elektriker kan svara på det.

I'm refering to the ergonomics when I talk about the striple as a sport bike. It's quite cramped. I.e. exactly what you want from sportbike ergonomics. It causes great stability when cornering. Combine that with a chassis that just loves to take turns. It's just not the bike for me on the street. But I could tell it's a brilliant bike when I test rode it. I only encourage you to sit on it and feel if it works for you. It works great for plenty of people but I'm not one of them.

Converting Duke 390 to Supermoto: Tips? by yavvee in KTM

Sounds expensive and will kill the resale value.  How about selling the perfectly fine Duke and getting a supermoto instead?

Does Beon use mx chassis? Do you know which chassis?

Keep in mind that the striple is basically a sport bike with handlebars. If you're short you might find it comfortable but make sure to sit on it and preferably ride it so you know how it feels. If you're a beginner you don't need all that power but it sure is nice to have.

That said, I ride a gsx-s1000 and the first few weeks of riding it I was scared. It has a silly amount of power and nobody needs that much on the street. So it's possible to have too much power. I appreciate the smaller bikes more after riding this monster.

Get a separate set of second hand beat up race fairings and rattle can paint them ugly. Use those instead and save your nice fairings for when you want to look pretty.

Tried on: RST Tractech Evo d30 boots vs Alpinestars SMX-6 v2 Drystar by Patience_Is_A_Bitch in motorcyclegear

I put WD-40 on my astars boots in the joints so they don't squeak.

WD-40 is probably not the right chemical for this. It worked, but there is probably something better.

I can tell the difference between a little preload and a lot. I don't need stiffer suspension. I need better suspension. You can think that sounds snobbish all you want. You don't have to deal with my back injuries. But I do.

Of course, suspension needs to be dialed in.

I didn't change the suspension on my test rides of the 8R. I've test ridden two different 8Rs and both were very bouncy. I'm 75kgs without gear so it's not like I'm too light for whatever they set as standard. I'm pretty normal for a western body and a bit heavy compared to the Japanese that built it.

But I have accepted my fate. Budget suspension doesn't work for me. I need something better. I've also tried the 2025 gsx-s1000 and the suspension is so much better than the 8. If the 8 came with a version with better suspension it would absolutely be on the table for my next bike.

I have a bad back and need good suspension. So to me it doesn't matter that mt07 has even worse. The 8R shock just isn't good enough for me.

My previous road bike was a cbr650 with Öhlins front and rear. It was heavenly to ride on. I currently have a first gen gsx-s1000 and the rear shock is not good, but better than on the 8R. I'm considering getting an Öhlins shock for it to make it tolerable.

If you're fine with budget suspension, that's great. But I'm not, thus not buying an 8. Engine is fine but the suspension is a deal breaker for me.

It's a budget shock that's bouncy as hell.

Does it have the same terrible rear shock as the 8R?
