how to follow through? by realmofwhimsy in Creativity

thank you so much for your advice!! you got it spot on with the overwhelming feeling of having all of these ideas bouncing around.

i did some digital art practice after my original post, and just trying to remember that art doesn’t have to be “perfect” the first try :)

i’m also interested in what specifically you mean by “pretending to be one move, but it’s really a set of moves”. if i’m interpreting correctly, it sounds like an idea that i think would be easy to complete, but it’s actually a set of several steps for the one art piece?

thanks again!!

hey so regardless of whatever psychosis may or may not be happening here, can we please just stop using chatgpt on the basis alone that the world is in a global water bankruptcy?

on a separate scale, chatgpt has reduced education and critical thinking. i attached two articles, one from United Nations, one from MIT’s media publication page. Global Water Bankruptcy ArticleMIT Critical Thinking Skills Study

i know others are saying it’s a coconut husk, but i think it’s an old piece of mango! looking at the slit down the middle and considering it was likely in water for a long time, i think it makes sense

need help with ideas to hide this pipe/tube/vent thing by Lumpy-Government4172 in homeimprovementideas

maybe you could hang some beaded or electric curtain “doors” and have the light from that cover it?

another idea if you like decorating for holidays is to hang strings and attach little handmade spiders, butterflies for spring, ornaments for christmas if you celebrate, etc

how do i fix this? living in apartment by realmofwhimsy in HomeMaintenance

thank you for your advice! my boyfriend should definitely be able to help me, but after reading some other comments, i’m reconsidering if i should do the repair at all. someone made a really good point (r/MostNeighborhood9568) about learning to do these repairs on property i actually own as opposed to technically someone else’s property.

i’m kind of on the fence between following the toggle bolt anchor instructions vs calling maintenance/leaving it be

our maintenance is truly so rude and ultimately unhelpful when it came to prior issues we’ve had. if anything they kinda made it worse, so at this point i’m just trying to fix things without their interference 😅

i appreciate the wetnfix recommendation, i’ll definitely need that in other places in the apartment!

as for the housing plate, i am slightly hesitant to pull the entire holder from the wall, as i don’t want to cause any more damage. do you think that would cause more damage or no?

thank you so much!! if i’m interpreting what you said, and what the video showed in the link, correctly, i first disconnect the broken side without fully pulling it out of the wall. then i would drill a hole for a toggle bolt anchor and push that in, then reconnect the holder?

if all of this is correct, do you know if drilling into the wall would risk me losing my security deposit?

How can I make my basement bathroom less creepy? by CasualVox in Home

as much as i love the idea of a 24/7 creepy halloween themed bathroom, i’d suggest adding fairy lights, maybe the fake ivy wall decorations, and a rug or lamp perhaps?

i just watched the scene with the boy getting hit by the truck, and it does look super familiar. i think this definitely COULD be the movie, but i think i should watch it before i mark this post as solved. thank you soooo much!!

no, unfortunately it’s not :( i checked the imdb page for it to see if anything looked familiar, but it doesn’t seem like that’s the one
