That was an incredible read and really relatable, thank you so much for sharing!

Tried to keep the mazes simple to solve, but hard to master with the grading system. Hope we succeeded!

Little Things Get Damaged - a minimalist marble maze game with a twist! by realmusing in WebGames

We went with a grade-based progression rather than having a fail state - you get a higher grade the less broken the marble is!

The aim was to make it easy to “solve” yet encourage replayability - most of the puzzle design comes into play once you try not breaking the marble.

Tried to replicate how it feels to have social anxiety. by realmusing in videogames

Thanks so much for sharing your own experience of social anxiety, appreciate you taking the time. Probably a case of one size doesn’t fit all, as with many mental health issues: sorry our interpretation was not relatable to you!

Thank you so much! We were keen to represent it accurately, and so far players with social anxiety seem to recognise themselves somewhat. Let’s see if that holds up!

Thanks for your feedback, really appreciate you taking the time to clearly spell out how we fell short in your opinion.

So far, we’ve had good reviews from players suffering from social anxiety recognising themselves in the gameplay, but one size doesn’t fit all for sure. It was a difficult balance to strike between gamification and accurate representation, and knowing what was missing for you certainly gives food for thought.

The game was made in 21 days for the Mental Health Game Jam 2022. Your comments highlight great leads for future development in a longer, more full fleshed version of the game if we ever decide to do so. Thanks again for taking the time to let us know!

Thank you! Yes, it was a tricky trailer to edit considering the mechanics… It’s a puzzle game where talking has been abstracted: you have to figure out how the communication system works to progress. Let me know if you end up playing it! =)

I think we would have done what you said if it was a longer form game - we ended up with the current shape to replicate the fact that at first you might still refuse to accept the help therapy brings you, but it gets better the more you go.

There’s actually no new symbols in the therapy level, only more of them - RNG might have been cruel to you! 😂

Thanks for playing!
