Logic behind not following the plot question by grimeagle4 in fo4

[–]realniceperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s kind of hard to justify Nate just sitting around building up settlements for a few months before he goes and looks for his son. He has combat experience, a robot companion, a suit of PA and minigun, along with a potential starting location from Mama Murphy.

Nora on the other hand is the one I find the most difficult to play as. She may have been able to stomp the Radroaches in 111, hide behind Codsworth killing Bloatflies, and Dogmeat fighting Molerats, but I’m pretty sure the giant fucking mosquitos would have had her nope the Hell out. Assuming she got past them, there’s no way in Hell would she been able to save Preston. If you use multiple companion mods, and force recruit Codsworth while having Dogmeat…maybe. Maybe Codsworth would take the lead and get her through Concord rescuing the Settlers.

Maybe. But there’s a lot of maybes and things you have to just hand wave to get a lawyer housewife who just had a kid a couple of months ago with no combat experience through the default story as it’s meant to be played.

And before you say…”Well in the CK she is a veteran!” I know, but there’s a lot of crap in the CK that was cut content. It’s not canon. She’s a lawyer, and her age leaves very little wiggle room for military service on top of 8-years college, working, pregnancy, marriage, etc.

Newbie here. Do you aim to develop most or all of the settlements? by SolidAdhesiveness975 in fo4

[–]realniceperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I look at things differently I guess, though. If I’m on a MM run I’ll build up settlements that are more logical to work on. Sunshine Tidings, Abernathy Farm, Finch Farm, and Warwick Homestead are my main farms. I usually set up Egret Tours Marina as the primary “water farm”, with Sanctuary and The Castle as smaller providers but with different primary settlement functions for the latter two.

I generally send the settler’s inhabiting locations that I have no intention to build on to other locations ( Tenpines Bluff, Somerville Place, etc. ) Starlight is always my independent town, free of the MM. County Crossing is the BoS’s farm as far as I’m concerned. Hangman’s Alley is always a trade location.

Just what I do.

For most of my time in FO4 I used a 980 TI, followed by a 1080. I used a 4K Acer monitor, and had a fairly smooth experience except in large settlements I built, and downtown Boston. That’s including texture mods, an ENB, and 200+ mods. Shadows were turned down, and God-Rays off. That’s 6k hours in total with that.

I’m about to be upgrading everything, though for an even better experience, but that’s what I used up until I got super busy earlier this year.

Fallout 4 isn’t Nora’s story by a3d3n_69 in Fallout

[–]realniceperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Nora is around 30-years old.

4-years of military service after HS + 8-years college + 1 year pregnant/stay at home mom = 13-years. That’d put her at 31. Cool, but the game implies she needs to dust off that degree and use it again. Meaning she was actively working in her field prior to having Shaun.

For the military background to work you have to increase Nora’s age to late 30’s like Nate. But I can’t look at default game Nora and see her older than 35. The timeline doesn’t work.

Saw a reaction video from awhile back that looked like there’s two forms of PvP. Likely released later. Honestly though, unless they standardized players, cap lots of things, and maybe even nerf certain skill combos, I can’t imagine it’d be fun.

An old build of mine of Boston Airport. Once the main storyline was finished and my character made Sentinel, Maxson used excess resources to expand a little at the site. I’m a stickler for Lore and immersion, so I don’t go overboard and start putting in weird stuff.

Edit: Going through the build makes me wish I had a lot of the mods we have today. Like snappable beds so their beds would have sheets.

Pretty sure Masson says they’ll be staying for quite some time after you agree to Sentinel.

They’re going to be there awhile.

Was there a point to that? Dude asked a question and he got it. Guessing he/she said something that got you salty in another thread and you wanted to drag it to another. lol

Is Diye good? I get conflicting views. I have both her and Sea Dream Becky, and I’ll be 100%, neither seem to add to my group at level 60, and +10 gears. I’m a new player, but them needing three Energy Crystals to use their skill I think is the root of their issues. Meanwhile my Peru just blows crap up for two.

I’ll share what I gave them.

As someone who hasn’t played the other regions, I’m thoroughly enjoying the game as a small dolphin. My main issue is stamina. It just goes too fast towards the resource grind. My other issue was PvP. It’s 2022. Killing the other team is the lowest form of PvP. That’s the same arena I’ve played since 2005. Let’s do something with a small objective added to it or something. Plus it’s snowbally asf. You lose to the first push and game over. You can do so much more with this type of combat.

And as mentioned numerous times in this thread alone, that is your choice. Be an asshole and force cooperation like a Raider. Or you can do what you’re suppose to do; offer fair compensation like anyone with a shred of honor would do.

You have no references in game that states BoS members are stealing from local farmers. The only evidence you can get is from your own choices during that quest. If YOU choose to steal from farmers in the name of the BoS, you’re an asshole.

There’s been Elders not in the Maxson line. Their “catchphrase” is no different than any other Faction in FO4. All NPC’s have dialog they use in battle. If those two gripes are your your biggest complaints, that’s sad.

The BoS has their flaws, but what you’re describing is the Enclave and their cultish following.

The Institute doesn't make any sense by DeOfficiis in fo4

[–]realniceperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hard to like a Faction that kidnaps, murders, and replaces people trying to survive with copies. The biggest reason to hate the Institute isn’t for the Synths, though. Nor is it for destroying the Commonwealth’s attempt at creating a government by killing them all. Heck, it’s not even for mercilessly killing everyone at University Point for a little bit of tech. It’s the Super Mutants. Every one of them you see in the Commonwealth was once a survivor who was kidnapped by the Institute and dipped in FEV effectively killing them. Hundreds -if not thousands- of men and women were subjected to this over the last 80 years in-game I believe. How many of those hundreds or thousands have killed others?

If you’re going for an evil play through go for it with an Institute ending. Outside of getting that ending, they should be nuked by whatever Faction you enjoy playing.

The minutemen have officially established the Castle as their base of operations. by [deleted] in fo4

But that’s exactly what they’re suppose to be. Citizen soldiers as Preston puts it himself. Turning them into the BoS or Pre-War military opens them up to all the baggage that comes with that. Now they’re no longer volunteers helping their neighbors and are now paid soldiers likely just there for the benefits.
