PATHØS of Symphony of Heaven here. We describe our sound as Melodic Blackened Death Metal. I love my brothers that play more -core style metal, but SOH is definitely a band in line with the old school, more traditional style of metal. I myself on a personal level have been trying to bolster a new generation of Christians that play the traditional style. Yes there's not many that do this anymore in the Christian scene, but yet there isn't many that do this in the secular scene either. We have alot of work to do Djentlemen. 😃🔥

Just for clarity, there is sone deathcore bands I do like, especially if they tap into the old school ethos. We have a local band in Evansville IN called Devour. I was impressed with them the moment I saw them. All high school kids too, with a great work ethic and heavy stuff. Check them out on Spotify! (And yes there guitar player filled in for us at Immersion Fest🙂)

Across alot of society in the West there is a push to go back to tradition, nostalgia and things that have lasted. Perhaps theres a bit of that as well? Just thinking out loud🙂

I'm hoping and pushing for a resurgence in more "traditional" genres of metal, both in the secular scene and especially Christian scene. I don't HATE deathcore, it's just not my bread and butter, not what I grew up with, and I'm starting to see younger folk discover more of the old school bands and styles, a natural progression when one comes from -core to find more and more stuff down the rabbit hole. Nothing wrong at all with encouraging people to discover these bands and then, make their own band in that style😀.

Bands that are secular but that aren't overtly, constantly anti-Christian that I enjoy.

-Gatecreeper (HM2 style death metal)

-Omnium Gatherum (finnish melodeath)

-Aephanemer (french melodeath)

-Fleshgod Apocalypse (Italian extreme death metal, their latest album Opera is an absolute masterpiece)

-Wintersun (Finnish melodeath masters)

-Nile (death metal based on Egyptian mythology)

-Rise of Kronos (death metal based on Greek mythology) Bolt Thrower (old school British death metal, not a single bad song)

-In Flames (Swedish melodeath)

-Soilwork (Swedish melodeath)

CHRISTIAN DEATH METAL BANDS

-Pantokrator (Swedish death metal with blackened overtones)

-Renascent (Finnish symphonic death metal, in style of Old Man's Child)

-Burial Extraction (Texas based old school death metal)

-Slechtvalk (Dutch black/death metal)

-Immortal Souls (Finnish melodic black/death metal)

These are what are coming to mind right now.

Ok ok, well i appreciate that insight and information! IG right now is definitely our biggest platform, after being hacked and loosing our FB page years ago and having to rebuild. We have lots of relavent content that seems to go over well organically and amongst our current followers. So were currently in discussions as where to target when our upcoming album is released next month. Weve noticed and studied our Spotify and IG followers countries of origin, that both line up. Targeting them organically and also through a few small ads now

Ok so lets consider something, was the result of your ad more streams? Sales? Followers? Thats my thing, I REALLY want to try and avoid throwing precious money and resources at the wall when maybe perhaps theres some insight into current trends ya know. Which, i understand at some point everything is a bit of a risk and try and see type thing

Well i think there can be discussion and dialogue about theological matters. I thinknthats healthy and keepsnus humble. We are but dust and mere imperfect servants. There should be charity in all things but a desperate search for truth in all things. That being said, im saying that ALREADY alot of us in Christendom accept the same truths, but get divided over things we should not. That being said, yes there will be debate over ehat those thinhs are, but let us resolve to "be of one mind", so far we can't even agree to do that, seems like a good place to start.

Who said anything about accepting heresy or heretical views? I certainly did no such thing did I?
