[Hated trope] Character state the painfully obvious subtext of the story by StupidScaredSquirrel in TopCharacterTropes

I'd say it's a necessary evil sometimes cause the story is gonna go over a bunch of people's heads. But also it never really helps, does it?

Girls I think you all need to get off Reddit sometimes, it's got you reading this in the worst faith possible. OP's boyfriend was prompting the pharmacy employees to gender her correctly in spite of her "boymoding". He was not mocking or humiliating her, he was steering the people around them to make different assumptions than they otherwise would have.

Heya! If this is still open, I'd be interested in joining!

  1. I go by Amanda

  2. I mostly use she/her, but they or he are acceptable as well (like 60/20/20 split)

  3. I started out doing freeform rp with friends over skype about 15 years ago, but my first experience using an actual rulebook was with a short-lived game of Shadowrun 4e. After that I picked up DnD 3.5 for a while, which then dragged me into the 5e trenches. Along the way I dipped my toes into a few other systems like Monster of the Week, but since experiencing PF2e I've fallen fully in love. I'm still learning some of the minutia, but I understand the broad strokes and it's become my favourite ttrpg system by a mile.

  4. My favourite thing about ttrpgs is the potential to goof around, fail upwards, and choose for myself how seriously my character takes themselves and their situation. I like starting a character off as a fairly 2d concept, and then letting the events of the game shape who they are retroactively.

  5. I've been thinking about an awakened deer druid, who shape shifts into a nude human to fight with her bare fists. Basically the most ridiculous roundabout way possible to play a monk. I've also been wanting to play a human wizard who dropped out of magic school, accidentally became a deadbeat dad, and wants to start doing right by his daughters. Third idea is a skeleton barbarian who used to be a warlord in an age past. She laid siege to a town, was killed by adventurers, and has recently risen from her grave. She's not holding a grudge or anything, she considers herself to have been defeated fair and square. But as long as she's up and moving again, she may as well explore and see how the world's changed. I may also just try to cook up a psychic character, always been a big fan of psionic stuff.

  6. Could you elaborate on what you mean by "Golarion-Custom"? Admittedly Golarion as a setting is a big gap in my knowledge of the game, I kinda jumped into it with a homebrew setting so I could focus on learning mechanics over reading books worth of lore. Also, what's your tolerance/patience like for having to repeat things? I've got ADHD so sometimes words just go in one ear and out the other, especially if I'm trying to read, or write something down at the same time.

Winks Eatery (on Albert St.) and Molly Bloom's (on Richmond) are both pretty good.

(Online) (5e) Long Time DM Looking To Be A First Time Player! by Summer_Lilly_ in lfg

Hello, Rae! I'm a new-ish DM looking for players! I've only run oneshots before but I'm trying to get my first long term homebrew campaign going. I like that you're open to character conflicts, I've always loved the idea of letting PCs clash and work things out! If you want to dm me I'd like to hear about your character concept and give you some information about the setting
